Congratulations on your completion of all the lessons in the healthy workstation. Now we're going to summarize what we've covered and put it all together. ergonomics is the study of human efficiency at work. And we related this to specific strategies we can apply to our own workstations. Health is achieved through the balance of stress, and the management of inflammation. By keeping loads to our tissues, and our minds at a tolerable level, we can avoid strain breakdown, pain, injury and burnout.
Posture is the structural alignment of our body. And when it is ideal, we have much greater comfort and durability. It really does reflect our attitude toward life, and we can use simple techniques to correct and maintain our posture. Sitting may not actually be the new smoking, particularly if we utilize good ergonomics including setup and habits, frequent breaks and position changes, sitting can be a useful component of our workstation. Standing provides us with an infinite variety of options in terms of arrangement, surface, motion and location. A standing workstation when designed appropriately, can significant significantly increased comfort through the workday.
Motion is life and life is motion and movement is comprised of general daily activity as well as specific exercise. Incorporating frequent random movement into our day, as well as some walking and a few purposeful exercises can keep our bodies functioning properly, and pain free. workflow is the way in which we go about and progress through our work day employing mindfulness and interval based approach to output, gratitude and positivity. Help us to create a work environment that is both efficient and joyous. Ultimately, you can use the tools presented in this course to make your workstation healthier. You may have already been doing a great job with some many or even most of these suggestions.
But I hope this program inspired you to be creative and making your workstation the healthiest it can be. I encourage you to choose the interventions that work best for you and adapt them further to fit your unique body and its needs. Listen to your body and be open to experimentation. We must also strive to create a culture of wellness in our workplaces.
