Hello, and welcome to the meditation on family. So this meditation is going to address an issue that may come up in your family as you're dealing with cancer treatment. So before we begin, what I'd like you to do is just take a moment and allow your attention to gently focus on whatever situation that may be. It may be something that has come up recently, or some repeating pattern that you can see throughout the course of your family life. Okay, I just close your eyes, get in a comfortable position and we'll start to relax. So what I would like to do before we get in to the healing part of it Meditation is to read a little story.
And you're welcome to listen to the story if you'd like or not, it doesn't really matter. But the whole purpose of this story is just to help you deeply relax. So go ahead and take a deep breath. And we'll begin and as you become more and more relaxed and as you continue to effortlessly breathe. I wonder if you've ever noticed that small voice that you hear in your head that seems loud at some times. Quiet and others It's a voice that's always there.
Sometimes it criticizes of things you do wrong or of ways that you're imperfect or things that you can't get right. And what is right and what is wrong? always nagging. Always criticizing. It's the inner critic that comes from who knows where and it reminds me of the fairy tale and of the stories where there's a wicked stepmother and evil stepsisters who always told the young maiden that she was bad that you would never amount to anything and really deserve nothing except to clean up after others and to do what she was told. But everyone knows the end of this story.
And that she did turn out to be something quite wonderful. Someone who was happy someone who was found to be very A very evolved even royal and she turned out to be more beautiful than anyone ever imagined inside and out. And so from that story, it's easy to imagine that something like that could happen to you. A dream come true a fairy tale fulfilled just from the act. dropping a few pennies into a wishing well. And sometimes that may be hard for us to believe.
Hard to imagine how to replace that inner voice. That inner critic but it's not hard to do. Sometimes it's just like listening to the radio. All you need to do Change the channel change your perception or change your focus into another tale into another story or the glass slipper. perfectly fit are where there's no place like home. So if you could change your story Change the tone and the words of your inner voice.
What would those words be? Would it be perfect beautiful, intelligent, fulfilled meaningful peaceful happy Healthy, Paul, not at peace and wholeness and one to the very depth of your being. As you continue to relax, continue to unwind continue to settle into the perfection of who you are and as you continue to relax unwind to let go. I'd like you to imagine yourself if you can, if you're drifting about some beautiful place, a healing place, a sanctuary place where you can really go and to let go of issues around family for healing, for well being peace As I count backwards from seven using the words down and deeper, I'd like you to drift down to this place into a very deep and peaceful state of calm and effortless relaxation. Number seven feel yourself going down, down drifting deeper and deeper. Sex drifting down, down getting deeper and deeper factor thing down down deeper and deeper.
For drifting down, down deeper and deeper, three drifting down, down deeper and deeper into drifting down, down deeper and deeper still drifting down, down, down deeper and deeper and deeper if you're now in your sanctuary Place I just ask that you imagine yourself being there as if you were actually there. And with every detail that you noticed, I'd like it to take you into a deeper and deeper state of calm and effortless relaxation. So you become more and more perfectly relaxed, more and more perfectly relaxed. More and more perfectly relaxed very Calm, very peaceful and very deeply relaxed. Very calm, very peaceful and very deeply relaxed. calm, peaceful, relaxed, calm, peaceful, relaxed and as you continue to sit there to lie there become more and more deeply relaxed More and more perfectly at ease.
What I would like you to do when the time is right is to allow yourself to imagine yourself going into a situation with your family. There may be conflict or jealousy or resentment or unresolved emotion. Just whatever it is. Allow yourself to be there in that situation as if you were actually there. Not so it's overwhelming but just so it has your complete and following As you continue to relax, to be in that situation, I'm going to ask you to do something very simple and whatever emotion to are experiencing in that situation with your family. I want you to simply let it go.
Release the emotions back into that past event. feel the emotions are releasing from your body as deeply as you can feel You and your body and your mind and in your soul. So we're releasing the negative connection and sending the emotions back into that situation of the past. So just allow that process to work with you for a few moments. And we'll work it out for a few moments in silence releasing the past releasing the past Releasing the past just continuing to breathe, to relax to allow that process to work for you. effortlessly letting go.
Negative connection releasing emotion that has been trapped inside when you're ready and you can take your time There is no hurry. When you feel like the time is right. I'd like to shift your focus and your attention and I would like you to go back through that situation again. But this time I'd like you to have it turn out the way you would like it to maybe peace and understanding or just connection or love whatever it is that you would like to see happen to have Event turned out. I'd like you to go through that process now. And I want you to pay very close attention to how that situation has changed not only inside of you, but how it has affected the people that you interact with.
So allow that process to happen now. Choose your imagination and pay attention to how it feels and where you feel that in your body And as that process continues and as your perception has shifted, you may notice something inside of you coming into your body from just outside of your awareness. It may feel like tingling or like light, like peace or like warm This is an incredible healing presence. Just pay attention to see if you can feel it in your body. If you can just allow that presence to expand, moving into every cell of your body healing, deepening and intensifying as the healing becomes so strong that it radiates out into your external world. And allow yourself to take this feeling this sensation of healing and imagine yourself going into the future with this incredible healing presence and imagine yourself going in there with this feeling of interacting with your family and paying very close attention to how that teacher situation has changed.
