Hi, welcome to our next meditation on physical pain. Let's see if we can get you out of some physical discomfort. So what I would like you to do, before we begin is to get yourself situated, or seated or lying down in a comfortable position where you're in the least amount of pain as possible. And when you're there, just close your eyes and breathe nice and deep. And we'll start to relax. And what I would like to do, to begin this meditation is to tell a little story.

You can listen to this story if you'd like to, or you can just ignore that's fine. But the whole purpose of this story is just to help you relax. So again, take a deep breath and will begin to let go. Not too long ago. In fact, quite recently I was walking down the sidewalk, going to a local cafe when I stubbed my toe. At first, I was certain my toe was broken.

The pain seemed excruciating. But as I hopped along and as I limped along, I noticed it was just a sprain a mere stubbed toe for the rest of that day And into the evening to I was walking with a slight limp. focusing my attention on that pain. The very next day, my toe is still sore. And I continue to walk with the limp. However, that afternoon my son was playing in a high school American football game.

You see, he was running back and he was on the second team. So he didn't get to play much And on this particular day, the starting running back was injured. And so it was his chance, his big chance to go out and play. And on the very first play, they handed him the ball. And he ran for almost the entire length of the field. He scored a touchdown.

And I stood up in the stands and I hollered, and I yelled and I jumped up and down with such great excitement and in that excitement I noticed something strange I didn't feel any pain in my toe. And it made me think. And it made me wonder. Pain is a curious thing. Where does pain come from? Does it come from the body?

Or does it come from somewhere else? Somewhere beyond the three dimensional time and space that our body lives in. Does it come from the mind come from Seoul. And as I continued to ponder on those thoughts, I noticed I was beginning to relax and I could feel relaxation beginning to move through my entire body as I continue to breathe without effort I continue to relax more and more so that I could feel relaxation all the way from the top Put my head all the way down to the tips of my toes. And the tips of those toes are feeling no pain. So I continue to relax and to ponder the mysteries of the physical body.

The mysteries of the human mind, which made me relax even more deeply into the very core of my being so deep that it felt like a part of me was opening up to a greater level of wisdom. Relaxed comfortable, gently alert and completely at ease. peaceful, calm and relaxed, peaceful, calm and relaxed and as you continue to breathe and as you continue to relax. I'd like you to imagine yourself somewhere if you can, about some beautiful place a healing place a sanctuary place a place where you can go For at least the mysteries of pain. So as I count backwards from seven using the words down and deeper, I'd like you to drift down to this place and into a very deep and peaceful state of calm and effortless relaxation. Number seven feel yourself going down, down to think deeper and deeper.

Six drifting down, down drifting deeper and deeper 515 down. Down drifting deeper and deeper for drifting down, down deeper and deeper. Three drifting down, down deeper and deeper to drifting down, down deeper and deeper and one drifting down, down, down drifting deeper and deeper and deeper If you're now in your sanctuary place, I just ask that you imagine yourself being there as if you were actually there. And with every detail that you notice, I'd like it to take you into a deeper and deeper place of calm and effortless relaxation. So you become more and more perfectly relaxed, more and more perfectly relaxed. More and more perfectly relaxed, very calm, very peaceful, and very deeply relaxed.

Very calm, very peaceful and very deeply. Relax. calm, peaceful, relaxed, calm, peaceful. And as you continue to rely and continue to be more and more deeply at peace. What I asked you to do now is to gently focus your attention on wherever it is you feel pain in your body. And as you continue to relax and to gently focus on the sensations of pain in your body I'd like you to pay attention to the pain and to realize just how ambiguous it is.

If you can, I'd like you to allow the space to begin to emerge between your body and the pain that you feel. So you begin become slightly detached, very relaxed and just slightly separated from the pain. Pain which may be moving Maybe pausing and as we continue to relax as we continue to focus on the pain just gonna allow us to start to swirl around. Maybe it will begin to dissolve or maybe it will lift up and out of your body. Just continue to relax and focus gently on the pain as it begins to move and release outside of your body almost as if there is a magnetic force that is effortlessly pulling the pain In neutralizing the pain or dissolving the pain entirely so just relax and be at peace and allow that process to work with you for just a few moments in silent, breathing, relaxing and alleviating pain breathing, relaxing and releasing pain.

Now as you continue to breathe, to relax, to allow yourself to be detached from physical discomfort there is something That's just outside of your awareness. It's about to make itself known. And what it is. It's the opposite of pain. It may be tingling sensations or warm, peace, joy. Whatever it is.

That's coming into your awareness now. And as you gently focus on whatever that sensation is, that's the opposite of pain. I want you to put it right in the place. Or previously I felt pain. And if you need assistance, you can have a helper or a guide, or an angel or whatever to help you in the process and I want you to gently focus your Attention and then incredible sensation that is the opposite of pain. And just pay very close attention to where you feel it in your body as we welcome in in chemi focus your attention and where are you feeling wonderful sensation allow it to heal and then allow it to grow and to intensify.

So as you continue to relax As you continue to breathe this wonderful feeling begins to make it home inside of your body. This incredible healing sensation. I feel so nice. So healthy and then we're gonna allow it to expand into every cell of your body deepening and intensifying us as you continue to relax as you continue to be at ease As you continue to release and to be free from physical discomfort, this soothing and healing energy is extremely peaceful and very comfortable and really an expression of love. Just feel it in your body. Know how to expand anchoring deeply in your body, in your mind and in your soul deeply relaxing Very much at peace and as you continue to breathe and as you continue to relax I welcome you to allow this meditation to extend into your future to continue with healing and soothing presence and to continue alleviating any physical discomfort and the hours and days and weeks ahead just continue to breathe To relax, to remind yourself, you can revisit this meditation at any time and the healing and the release.

Anything that's gone on today to help heal your body in your mind is permanent and goes with you from this day forward. help you improve the quality of your life. Not only physically but mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Just breathe it all in and continue to relax. And when you are ready, there's absolutely no hurry. But when you feel like you're finished When you feel like you've had enough you can slowly open your eyes and gently drift back in to the conscious world.
