Those of you that are taking my CCNA or have taken my CCNA or seeing my videos with a more switchboard configuration you can think of, but hey, let's go see what they got for us. Okay? So bear with me.
For those of you, man. I gotta get my fingers working tomorrow. All right, which parts to configure. You can configure the individual ports on a switch with various informations and settings. Yes. And I switch, you're gonna do a single configuration on a port meaning you go to one port or a single interface, right by your joining interface and the interface you want to get into.
And then do whatever you want. Okay, or you can use the interface range command, and then everything in all those ports, whatever you type that's going to take effect. And that's the way we did things, right? If we want to create VLANs on your client switches, you go swit, you go to global configuration, right, you enable config T, and you go interface, range f 01 dash 15, enter. Now you're in range interface configuration mode. So now whatever you type in there, it's going to have 12 ports, alright, or this is the new thing, okay?
Or something that didn't say before that you can create a macro. How about that. You can define an interface range, and we call the Lazarus team as your one dash 20. Right define, but I'll tell you this like, and then interface range macro last thing so the macro when when you're going in as well. Look for last thing as for whatever configuration is that you want Enter Now, in order to do this, in order to do this macro, make sure that the iOS of your switch router, whether it be a layer two switch or layer three, switch or it's a router, whatever the case may be, make sure there's support that. Okay, make sure there's a ports.
It supports you typing the command define why and then you know that you have the macro and all that good stuff. I guess if it doesn't, then it's not gonna be good for you. Okay, so yeah, real equipment, GNS three will probably do it. I do not believe that packet tracer has that command. I can do everything else, but at least say that look, there it is. I doubt it highly.
They're going to be creating macros and your CCNP switch by Alright, so now you know, okay, now you know, I and then identifying ports and port speeds. Now one thing that I've always said, okay, whether you're on a router, whether you're on a switch, whatever it is, you want to put descriptions on there, okay? And I'll put a description connection to land or description connection to router two, but you want to go ahead and put a description and your ports and like it says right there. It's a courtesy thing. You want to put description that helps you later on. When you're low.
You're troubleshooting. You want to know Okay, what is that port connected to? What is it doing? Is there some sort of ID number that I need to be aware of? This is why it's important, or it's nice is good to have descriptions and then that's the command description, and then you put whatever you want. Okay.
Now, you can assign specific speeds to multiple speed boards. Obviously, you gets fed, you can set the speed to 10 101,000 or two auto. And normally you want to leave it at auto unless you want to be specific and you know exactly what you're doing. So they can auto sense the speed. Now remember, either auto sensing the speed, and one guy's running half duplex, and you're always running full duplex, you're gonna have a what a duplex mismatch, and they're gonna come out errors, errors are going to be coming out. You could also change the duplex mode from four to half, four to half.
So be careful with the speed Be careful with the full or half duplex, because you can run to problems again, you need an auto, they're good to go. They can auto sense what they're connected to. Okay, they can sense that. But again, there's that I believe, I believe in my opinion, that you guys knew already about this, that there is nothing new, except for that macro. Now we looked at I said define right now to look at a project the back row that you create, but again, your iOS is the one that needs to support that. And as far as this being in the test, maybe will be a multiple questions.
