Welcome to read and remember fiction, I'm so glad you're here. I'm so excited for you to take on this project of reading a novel or short story, and taking notes and really analyzing the plot and characters, and even writing a book review of your story after you finish. I hope that this will just be a really fun project for you and that you'll learn a lot about reading and start to love reading and enjoy it as much as I do, and that it will become a regular part of your day. And you will really expand your knowledge about the world and people and humanity and everything. If you do this. I know it's going to be a really positive thing for you.

So a little bit about me. I'm Sally white. I will be your instructor in this course. I am currently a middle school reading teacher, and I've been teaching for over 20 years. I've taught Middle School, reading And language arts and also high school English and journalism and drama. I have a master's degree in literacy.

And I have worked with struggling readers reading is really a passion in my life. And I love reading myself I read mostly either young adult literature because I teach middle school and I always want to keep up with what my students are reading. But I also like to read a good romance. I like inspirational mysteries, thrillers even occasionally, a horror novel or something crazy like that. I like reading the classics. And I majored in English and enjoyed looking through and analyzing those classical literary works.

And now though, I have to admit I'm more into just reading fun, kind of commercial fiction and every once in a while, I'll read a more challenging literary piece but that's just a little about me as a reader and as your instructor and I have studied All kinds of methods for reading. And I know what works and what doesn't work. And I won't waste your time, I promise with things that are just basically some kind of rip off thing like some of the speed reading things, we'll get into that later. Some of them work and some of them don't. And I will just only teach you things that work so that we're not wasting your time. And that you can actually move forward and really become a better reader right away.

In this course, I would like to be in touch. So please post any questions that you have in the q&a section. And I promise I'll get right back to you. This is my first video course that I've ever made. So I'm going to be going through and trying to improve it and really make it better over time and I know that it's not perfect and I am just letting you guys know that I'm trying to learn and that if you have any suggestions of things that I should improve, please let me know and I will just keep updating the course over time and trying to make it better and better. In the next video I will discuss different levels of reading and we will try to determine what your just right reading level is.

So let's get started. I'm so glad you're here and I look forward to seeing you in the next video.
