Another very important topic is warming up properly. So as professional dancer does not go onto stage and jumps into a split straight away without warming up, it's a bit the same and salsa dancing. So whatever it is, that's good for you make sure that you never go into a full, full expression salsa dance without having moved a single inch before. Try stripe smooth or something, do a bit of stretching, do a bit of walking, go to the party by bike or anything of the kind, but make sure that your muscles are not freezing when it gets started, but warm up in a way that seems good for you. Just one note here. Drinking a cocktail is not warming up.
It makes you feel warm and relaxes the muscles but it does not get the muscles into the right tension. So you might want to have your cocktail if you'd like to, but still start easy then before going into full party mode.
