Hey, welcome back. In this video, I'm going to explain to you how you can use Google Forms in order to conduct polls or college elections. Without any paperwork. It is quite easy. But even though it is easy, I request you to please watch this video till the end because I want to show you how you can show the responses to the user. First of all, I'm going to change the title of the form.

So how just change the title has XYZ college elections. You can use the name of your college or you can choose an appropriate title for your form. And then I'm going to change the question So I will change the question as select your student leader for 2019 to 2020. And then I'm going to add the options. It's better to add the names of the candidates. But as it is an example form, I'm going to just add the options as candidate one, candidate two, etc.

So I'm going to change it. So I have added the options. Now, I'm going to make this question as required, because I don't want the students to submit an empty response. And this is how simple form for conducting polls or elections will be. But apart from adding the cushions and options, you also need to make some changes to the settings of this form. So open the settings and here in the General tab, check this option saying limit to one response and then move to the presentation section where we are going to make a small change to this confirmation message.

Instead of saying your response has been recorded, we are going to change it to your old has been recorded. I will click Save after making the changes to the settings of the form. You can use this form description area in order to inform the student that he should be careful while selecting the candidate because he cannot change his response once he has submitted the form. So I have added a small message saying Be careful when selecting the option in order to old for a right person. Apart from that, instead of just adding the names, you can also add the images of the candidates. And you can do it simply by selecting that option and while you have selected a particular option, you can see this icon add image icon being displayed and when you click that, you will be able to add a photo of a person.

So as an example, I have added three majors for different candidates. Actually how added the clip arts because I fear of any copyright claims or any kind of action being taken against my video, hence, how to use the clip arts instead of images of real men. Apart from that, you can also add image of your university in order to make this form even more beautiful. As an example, I will be adding a simple image. Apart from that, I'm also going to just make basic changes to this theme. So, I'll go to the illustration section and change the background color And apart from that, I will leave the font style as basic.

And after that, let me go to the preview section and try adding responses to this form. You can see that our least efforts to just make some changes to the design The form has resulted in a beautiful web page where the respondents are allowed to provide the responses. So we have the image here and below we have the options to choose from. I will select this first candidate and you can see the image is being highlighted. And then I will click this Submit button. So after casting the order, the user is informed with a confirmation message.

This looks good enough, but in cases of form that will act as a poll, it is better to show the live performance of different options. I will go back to the form editor and I will first of all delete the response here because as I have already added the response, this will not lead me to add another response even while I'm in the preview section. Okay, So first of all, I will delete all responses. And right after that, let us go to the Settings section again. And here in the General tab you can find this option saying see summary charts and text responses. So while you check this option, the respondents can see summary charts and text responses after they have submitted the form.

So, after making this change, I'm going to click the Save button and I will go to the preview section again. Now, I will cast my vote again and I will click the submit button. After submitting the form with the confirmation, there is also a link being shown to me saying see previous responses. So when I click this, you can see the responses and in the similar manner, all the rest respondents will be able to see the responses. But this is not enough, because we are just letting the user to know the responses only after he has submitted the form. What if he wanted to go to the responses section again, then it may be very tough.

And moreover, what about the people who haven't yet cashed in their own? What if they also wanted to know about how different options are performing? So for that reason, I'm going to show you how you can provide a link to the user or how you can embed this responses section in your website. If you go to the form editor, you cannot find any where the option to copy the link to the page where the respondent can see the responses. It is not even available in the responses section. So in order to copy the link, all you have to do is just Right click this text and select this option saying copy link address.

Now, I will go to the incognito tab and show you that this link can be used to show the responses to the respondents of the form. And let us go to that URL. Yeah, so now you can see that the Edit option is not available because the browser doesn't know who I am. And the responses are only being shown here. You can use this link in order to embed it into your website, or else you can share this link. This marks the end of this video.
