Hi, I'm Johnny john, I hope you have to validate self knowing from the practice of meditation. Now the most powerful form of meditation is the form of meditation which promotes self knowing, through this simple act of observation, observing the truth of the reality that is happening inside rather than imagining it. From South knowing welcome South transformation, but these types of meditation can seem boring, because so many repetition as we just sit there, meditation on the ground, they'll show me It can seem like we're wasting time with being unproductive. Every day like this, we repeat the same action again and again. For some it can seem tedious, unproductive and boring but realize that by spending time with ourselves that we can develop self knowing, maybe it's easier to understand if we use the analogy of knowing someone else. It's by spending time with someone that we can get to know them.
And the more time we spend with them, observing the actions repeated over and over again, it is then we can develop the knowing even more. Now, before we get to know a person, we can be stuck in the imagination of what this person is. But this will block the knowing. We have to put the imagination aside and simply observe that's how we can get to know the person deeper and deeper. And of course, when we get to know someone, we can also get negative reactions when they do things that we cannot understand. And when we do not understand the actions we can start to imagine, again, we can start to imagine this person did that because he's selfish.
This person does that because he is trying to use some sort of an ulterior motive. For instance, you can meet a person who is always speaking loudly. And you can start to imagine that he's, she's doing that because she wants power. Or she's doing that because she does not. She does not have any concerns of what people may think of her. She doesn't care about how other people feel, when she's speaking loudly interrupting everyone.
Now when we get stuck in imagination that will not help with developing self knowing. And likewise, in the meditation practice, you put the imagination aside, you put the thinking aside, you simply observe that is how the Knowing deepens and if you apply this same mentality towards knowing a person observing their actions repeated over and over again, day after day, month after month, year, after year, perhaps you will eventually realize the truth of the nature. Perhaps you one day you will realize that this person is speaking loudly because she cannot hear properly. He is she had maybe she has hearing problems. That is why she's speaking so loudly she is not aware that she's speaking loudly. You know, like when we speak loudly when we have the headphones on.
And when you reach deeper realization, deeper knowing of that person, you realize that person is not so bad. And then your beliefs becomes changed, your mind becomes transformed. negativities released. And likewise, as we sit there meditation, observing your mind, day after day, year after year, observing the wandering thoughts at home, wondering why we have this like this dislike, wandering, experiencing all the negativities that surface as we'll share, day after day, month, after month, year after year, we will realize, ah, why the wandering thoughts are there. Why do I like this? Why do I hate this, the self knowing develops, self transformation develops.
So, meditation can seem like a boring and repetitive practice, but it's by spending time with ourselves observing and observing, that has held the South knowing defense.
