Now let's talk about filtering or selection and Antti areas. So zooming out creating a new layer. And now we have several options set to zero pixel and we have empty area selected. So let's start drawing or circle pressing Shift to have a perfect circle. I'm going to be filling that one was background color holding Command or Ctrl Backspace, we can fill it as well as foreground color pressing Alt or Option key Backspace, however, I'm going to keep it as it was on black prison model Ctrl Z. And let's zoom in so you can see the difference while we do our next one.
And now let's do another one disabling on toy Ellis, and click and drag, racing shift. Fill it was black mando Ctrl backspace. And let's draw another one. However, let's enable onto areas and increasing feather. Although it may be 250 pixels or so, so you can see how it's going to look like maybe drawing here are some shifts all through and filling that one was black want to control Backspace, and instantly that sees a difference while we applied failure. So we have a very soft edge in here.
Unlike that one, we have a hard or sharp edge. So in that filter selection, we have a smooth transition for our fill color. And also we have some transparency around our selection. While if we zoom in in here, let's disable our selection recent Command or Ctrl D, maybe zooming out a bit. So here we are above 300 zoom level, as you can see, and why don't we enable the top Areas auction for that circle we have smooth and sharp edge because Photoshop in that case will be trying to give you a smooth curve. However when we disable that option in that circle we have a very big edge.
So zooming in more you can see how it's going to look like. So unless you're going for 80s or 90s art direction, you can keep that option on on the areas while creating of course your selection. And also zooming out of it you can be drawing circles either with a specific ratio or size. So here you have style. Now we are in normal style mode you can be selecting either fixed the issue, so it can be doing with five to one for instance, which will be giving ellipses like that, or instead it can be selecting fixed size. Maybe you would like to grow a perfect square.
So let's select Rectangular Marquee tool and select it Fixed Size. And now it's only going to be growing squares was that size. So if we start doing a new selection, it will be removing that selection. So as you can see, we have that warning in here. So pressing OK. And let's start drawing again. Now we have a very precise size for our selection.
Maybe that could be helpful if you're going for web design, or web design or even geometric designs. So it can be very precise, I'm sure. So hopefully, by now guys, you have a better understanding of selections, and why we need them and how we can be controlling them. And even next videos, we're going to be discovering more about selection tools and methods. So stay tuned and I'll be seeing you
