Hey guys, welcome to another episode of escape school. In today's episode, we're going to be teaching you how to divorce. Let's get started. To learn the backside pivot, start by heading to your local skate park. Find the smallest mellow bank that you can practice by doing backside kick turns up and down the bank. Once you get more comfortable getting higher up on the bank, you can also tap your tail down and bring your front truck up like you would have five oh, if it still keeps going up and up until you reach the top lip of the bank.
Now this is the exact same motion that you're going to be using for the backside pivot on a regular quarter price. Find this deeper bank and keep practicing. Once you've got them down on a steep bank, they're very easy on a mellow quarter pipe or bigger quarter pipe. Keep practicing emotions until you lock in every try with your front trucks leaning back into the ramp. Now when you get to the quarter pipe, you're going to use the exact same motions as you do during the backside pivot on a mellow bang. Keep your front foot on the front bolts of your board with your back foot covering your tail and your knees while you're riding up the ramp and turn your body just like you would a backside.
Make sure you have enough speed to reach the coping on top of the ramp. Once you get your trucks on the coping, lean back, hitting your tail on the coping and bringing your front truck up in the five o backpack. When you feel your weight starting to shift back into the ramp, transfer your weight on your front foot. Turn back into the ramp putting your weight onto your front foot and on the front bolts of your board. Bend your knees and rightaway clean. Now this trick definitely takes some practice so don't get this Alright guys, now you mastered the backside pivot, it's time to take it to bigger and bigger ramps.
