Hello, and welcome to our next lecture entitled inducing a deeper meditative state. So what we're going to do is we're going to build on our last lecture which was inducing a light meditative state. And so now we're going to take our audience into the deeper brainwave states or the theta, brainwave state, which is the trance state, the deep meditation state or the hypnotic state. Now, when I use this, I use it in two applications. One, it will be in a group setting because what I like to do is I like to work with a group of people to take him into longer meditation. So when you use the deepening technique, it'll build on the initial induction or the initial inducing of the meditative state and it will take a deeper and it's a little longer.
Also use deeper meditation techniques when I'm working one on one with people to induce some very deep healing because what happens Is that when you go into a deeply meditative state, your subconscious opens up. And it really makes you accessible to, to be able to work in the deeper layers of your psyche to do some deep healing. So when we're in the conscious state of mind when we're awake and talking and things like that, there's this barrier that exists between the conscious and the subconscious mind. And it's referred to as the critical faculties of the mind. So that's why I talk therapy, sometimes, you can only take the healing so far with people that feel like you're hitting a wall. And that's because in talk therapy, you're actually in the conscious state of mind.
And so if you want to get into the deeper layers of that need to go into a meditative state, kind of transcend the conscious mind and go deeply into the subconscious or the deeper layers we can do some real deep healing. Now how I use the deepening technique, it's actually quite simple for what I use. I will read a story or use a progressive relaxation technique to induce the light meditative state. And after that, I'll do a simple countdown technique. While I'll have my audience, imagine that they're going to the sanctuary place that place, it's really wonderful. They can either imagine it or maybe it's someplace they've been before.
And then I'll simply count backwards from seven using the words down and deeper, to take them into a deeper state of being our deeper state of mind. So go something like this. Number seven, feel yourself going down, down, drifting deeper, and deeper. Number six, drifting down, down, drifting deeper and deeper, and so on and so forth. You want to use a really calm voice, again with a certain cadence. And you just want to take your audience from a light meditative state to a very deep meditative state.
Now you can use anything you want in terms of imagery, you know, for instance, you can Imagine, have your audience going down a staircase that can be floating on a cloud. Or they can be going down an elevator, whatever visual technique you want to use is fine. But I like to use one that's going down because we're going down into the deeper layers of our being. And having a sanctuary place for them to land make the very safe and secure for your audits. So attached to the summary of this lecture, is a script you can use to kind of practice doing the technique that I use, but feel free to use your own. And then there's going to be a sample meditation, just introducing you to what it's like to go through the deepening process.
So look at both of those, and then we'll see at the meditation thanks
