The first principle of online entrepreneurship we need to cover is the principle of hope. But to get to there, we first have to understand what is it that motivates you? What is it that drives you beyond those first three months where most entrepreneurs fail. See, a lot of people get two free months, even sometimes twice a year, and they give up they fail. And a lot of time is because they don't understand their motivation and they forget what is driving them. Now, there's two types of motivation.

But the first thing we're going to look at which is often the strongest type of motivation, is avoiding the past. Now you might be motivated to avoid an issue in the past. For example, you might have gotten debt in the past and you want to avoid that maybe you've worked for employers, and you're just sick and tired. have that type of what I personally think is slavery where you're selling your time for money, your liberties are restricted and you can't manage and run yourself, maybe that's what motivates you. Now, the key thing to notice about this is that when you're motivated by past events, you're actually motivated by real situations. So it's very easy for you to look at those situations and say, I didn't like that I want to move away from that.

So when we're avoiding the past, we move away from something. So what would be a really good exercise for you right now is to write down some of the things in the past in your life in your work, your career, your business building, that you have not enjoyed that you would like to move away from that you want to avoid. And write them down on one side on a piece of paper. So you can just pause the video here. write those down. Now the next thing we need to look at, is what motivates you in the future?

Where is your hope? So what is the picture of your future? What does your life look like? What does your home look like? What is your car? But more than that more than the possessions?

How are you going to feel in the future? How are you going to think about yourself? What are you going to be able to do with your life? What adventures you're going to be able to have? What security Do you want in the future? Now when it comes to writing down a hopes these are a little bit harder to to use as motivation and the main reason being, we've never actually experienced them.

So they're almost in the realm of fantasy. Whereas avoiding the past that was reality we experienced that. We know what that felt like. But when it's hope in the future, that not as strong. And this is what people miss. Sometimes, when they're setting goals, they will set goals about what they want in the future.

And they'll say I want a nice car, I want a house, I want a boat. But they don't understand that they need to blend that with a void in the past. So what you need to do on your piece of paper now is on the other side, you've got you've drawn your column and you've written down what's avoiding the path. just pause the video now and just write what you hope for in the future, not just in terms of possessions for what you hope your state of mind, and your emotional state will be in the future. And once you have that, you have a motivation chart, and you need to keep that somewhere. And what would probably be a good idea is to create a statement from the lists.

So these are the things I want to avoid in my past. And these are the things I want To experience in my future, and then when you have that, keep that way you can see it, save on your computer, print it off, pin it on a wall where you get up every day. Until your motivation. And what you see is there, it's in your mind, it's in your heart, it's intellectual, it's emotional. You've got to really take this, you know, and to understand how motivation really works. If, if you want to change something, what's going to happen, it's going to travel through the mind, the idea is going to travel through mud and nice to rest in the heart.

So you need an emotional commitment, if you're going to carry on and that's what hope is, is that mental and emotional commitment to a better future. So just pause now if you haven't already done so, and take the time to write out that statement. And this is the thing that We have to be very clear about our dreams when it comes to where we were going. But the dreams on their own. Without the nightmares of the past won't balance they won't work. So be very clear about where we're coming from.

And be very clear about where we're going and be very clear about our dreams. And like I said, focus on the mental state and the emotional state you expect to experience in the future. And this is the core principle that is going to drive you and push you through. When you don't feel like doing anything or you feel like it's not working, or it's not going your way. If you're clear about your dreams. You're clear about your what you're avoiding in the past, and you're clear about what you're hoping for in the future.

Hope will drive you through
