So let's talk about success. Now. When it comes to building a business, we have to keep ourselves motivated. And a lot of times, one of the reasons we don't keep ourselves motivated is because we do not celebrate our successes. What do I mean by that? Oftentimes, when we look at our business, we'll look at our failings and we'll look at what's going wrong.
And we'll look at those and we're saying, I don't feel like I'm doing very well. But we'll often not notice our successes as small successes. Sometimes we'll have big successes, but we won't see all the little successes on the way. It might be, for instance, that we released a new course and it goes really, really well. But overall sales that month are down, you need to celebrate small success. You know, it might be that your retail lines not doing that, well.
You've got a lot of retail lines and they're not doing that well. But you introduce a new line and that starts doing well. celebrate your success. Don't be blind to your failings. But the other flipside of this is you've got to balance your awareness of findings with awareness of success. reward yourself.
So if you have a very good job, don't be fine to reward yourself to go out for a meal with a family member or someone to reward yourself maybe to buy yourself something. reward your success is really, really powerful when you start celebrating your success. And when you start rewarding yourself with little events, especially if you're working with other people, when you can have a reward. I remember the SME heroes and we launched and, you know, we had four directors in the business and two of the directors. You know, when we took them out and we made a big sound, we got a big job. We took them out and we had a meal They said you really reward yourself.
Let me say, Yes we do. When we succeed, we reward ourselves when we fail, we're very clear. We're not talking about pride here. What we're talking about here is pleasure in a job well done. You know, it's good to attain, it's good to achieve is good, do the very best you can. And when you see some success, make sure you reward yourself.
And the biggest part of this is thanking people. So whenever you reward yourself or something has gone well thank the people around you, thank your customers. thank those that have supported you. thank people for helping you succeed, make that success. Come you know, let other people share in your success. And that comes to the point at the end is share your successes.
When you're successful. Let people know you've succeeded and you're happy it might be through online marketing. It might be just for sharing with close friends and family, but share your successes, because those successes are going to create a positive mental and emotional state when you celebrate them. And it's part of our motivation. It's part of what keeps us moving forward is by allowing ourselves and being careful to enjoy success. A lot of people will feel guilty.
It's incredible when they start being successful. A lot of people have got belief systems like money's evil, for instance. And if they start doing well in business, they rather than celebrate their success, I'm not saying spend all your profits on a new motorbike. What I'm saying is, mark your successes, make sure you do them. one specific event that a lot of people won't celebrate their success, they feel guilty of their success. Don't feel guilty if you succeed.
Be joyful. be appreciative. Make sure the people around you know that you appreciate their support. Make sure your customers know you've appreciate their support. Success guys, if you don't celebrate it, often passed by unnoticed and you won't see it and you won't get the motivation from it that you need. Because remember, when you're an online entrepreneur, and you've got your challenges, and maybe people are misunderstanding you, as we mentioned in previous videos, maybe you had some failings, maybe some things haven't worked.
A lot of these things can be negative Do we have to make sure that we have positive activities that we intellectually engage in, that we can emotionally relate to, so that we're not drawn down into a negative state of depression. But rather we can maintain a healthy, realistic balance of how our business is doing. So we're not talking here, you know, pretend nothing went wrong. We want to be very clear about our mistakes. But we also want to be very clear about our successes. We want to make sure we share them, we want to thank people.
And if you think in terms of thanking people, you know, obviously customers but you know, you might have a spouse that supported you all the way in and you say, here's the success. You were part of this. Tell people and learn to share your successes and celebrate your achievements.
