What is spirituality? What is the divine? Everybody has their own personal answer to these questions. And I'm not here to tell you anything about your belief system, your traditions, your values, that's all personal. It's very, very personal. And I'm here to facilitate a deeper communion with your personal relationship with the divine.
And that's in a nutshell, what I call spirituality. It's a non defined way of our own communion with the divine and how we go about that, that personal path that we take and we develop our own selves over the course of our lives. How you implement that is your spirituality. So it's different than a religion in that religious context. Have a certain structure and a certain set of prescribed ways of doing things, maybe a common set of values and beliefs that everybody in that particular religious arena all subscribe to. And it's different than a tradition.
The tradition is something that's passed down, kind of like a lineage from generation to generation to generation. And so spirituality overlaps with all three of these areas, tradition, religion and lineage. However, it can be very personal to you. So for me, what my spirituality relates to a lot is of diversity of ways of communion with the divine. When I think about my own spirituality, what's so important to me, is that aspect of energy. You know, the physicists tell us that we're 98% energy, it's Pretty high degree, something like that?
Well, so, you know, we're 98% energy or only 2% matter than anything that is energetic and vibrational resonance, any of that sound, all of that stuff that's energy oriented is going to have a pretty profound effect on us. As a demonic energy healer. I've studied this for a really long time, you'll notice that a lot of the class material oriented around energy, and we'll be talking about energy of the directions today of the elements. That's a really big concept for me and I share that with you have seen my students have profound shifts in their lives from adjusting their energy. It's pretty, it's pretty amazing that we are really permeable and influenced by that. And I find that all very interesting and very important, all these different facets in ways and that's why this whole class series has a very broad arrangement of tools and techniques.
For many different traditions, I started out in paganism and I'm a tree hugging Earth worshiper from way back. And I really love the earth. And today there's a quite a big focus on what I learned from that Wiccan path, way back in the day. In more recent years, I've studied more Christianity and also some Hinduism. I've also studied a lot with indigenous practices and woven all of this together. I don't know that much about Buddhism.
However, somebody invites me to a Buddhist event. For example, a sacred Tara dances, I was all about it. I really enjoyed that. So almost any form of spirituality I enjoy. Well, that's why, you know, I tell people I'm a Reverend. It just really is a title that describes to people how much I love spirituality.
Nobody has to take it to the extent I do and stand in front of a camera and teach people about it. However, I really do encourage you to develop your own and be creative with your own spiritual path in your own spirituality.
