Hello, welcome to lesson two. How do we learn mathematics? There are many theories, but there's no universal method and no one size fits all. However, to be good at mathematics, everyone agrees on two things. You need knowledge and understanding. How is your mathematics?
Are your knowledge and understanding muddled up? Would you like to sort them out? sorting out your knowledge and understanding is what I call becoming a power learner of mathematics. You will not become a power learner of mathematics by watching someone else do it or by passively watching a video research and he experience shows us that the best way to learn mathematics is by being active. To be an active learner of mathematics, you must read it, think about it, write it down, practice it and use it. Now in this course, you will watch video lessons, make your own notes, do practice questions, and solve problems.
Before the video lesson starts. Make sure you have a pen or a pencil and some paper to write on. Sit comfortably so you can watch the video easily when it starts. Read the lesson objectives so that you know what to focus on during the lesson. During the video lesson, listen carefully to the explanations. Make your own notes as the lesson progresses, and replay any part you didn't fully understand.
After the video lesson, summarize the lesson topic in your own words. Read the lesson objectives again to make sure you've understood these vital ideas. Now, work through all the activity questions. When you finished, study the solutions, and if necessary, repeat the video lessons to make sure you've mastered the concepts. Finally, do the quiz at the end of the section, you should aim to achieve 80% or more. If you don't, I suggest you study the material again and repeat the quiz.
Now for this course, I want you to make a commitment for success. Promise to study mathematics every day for at least 15 minutes. With thorough and focused studying, you will soon become a power learner of mathematics and achieve mastery learning
