All righty, let's say you are done with your file, how are you going to render this out in After Effects or simply add that to the render queue. So I'm just going to do that very quickly. But first, to make this a little bit nicer. So it makes sense and justifies our render SCOTUS down. Going to into an apple, and it's going to remove that ugly thing. Leave it like that, okay.

And then basically, you add that to the render queue, composition, add to render queue, and then hit render. And then voila, quite simple and straightforward, right. Let's just Of course, make sure your settings are correct, and then at to the render queue, and hit render, and wait. So since this is just a still image, we actually don't need a video format. So let's just actually go in and do a very quick adjustment right here. Okay.

I'm going to change this to only one frame because we really only need just one single frame. So my duration is at least one Okay, I'm going to change my format to a well, let's just make this a JPEG sequence. Everything else looks okay. It's all my options, just check. Maximum quality. Yes.

Check all the other settings make sure that my composition is okay, this is the correct one. Yes. So I'm going to go click on my output. We don't have to create a sub folder. So just click Save. And then when you are done in After Effects, hit render.

And there you go, my very ugly looking Apple on top of David's face now hopefully you went in and he adjusted that, but again, no worries. We're just here to talk about how to transition your skills from an after effects to nuke. So in nuke, this once again can be achieved via as right you guessed it notes. Now we talked about render format of the film industry in my other courses, but for now, let's use the exact same format we did for a vendor as well. First things first, let's just kind of do Same thing with our apple, I'm going to actually move this. So firstly, I'm actually going to create a new Merge node, I'm going to detach this with my merge hit t to bring up transform, basically, for me to adjust that, and then I'm going to create a new Merge node to put an apple on top of David, just my backdrop right here.

Now I'm going to go and my final match, hit one to view it. Okay, so I'm actually going to move this so you can actually do this in two ways you can do it right here will translate X and Y will actually just move it manually inside of you. And then I'm just going to scale this down right here. Now if I click on the number behind, and I actually press the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard, you can see that I can decrease them by increments, and it's just actually put this on top of his face. Now be careful of going right behind a number because you create smaller increments, you hide the decimal point, and then maybe just fine tune it further with the smaller number behind. Alright, so let's just clear this out in the Properties tab to make sure I get rid of this tool and Gizmo in my Clicking on this little icon, Now, again, just like anything else here and you have a no to write things out.

So with my final merge selected, hit tab, and such for right, or alternatively, you can also use the W key. And that's also a shortcut key for that. Now, let's go to our file output tab right here and see what's going on. Okay, so in order to write a file, you actually have to find the file path and then type it up in the little pop up box that appears. And I can see this is the pathway I want to write. Yes, and in order to write the name of your export file, you have to do it right here.

So I'm just going to call this David eight on Scott apple. And I'm going to put my format in there and watch what happens when I do that. So dot jpg, jpg, see if you can see that my right note automatically populates with all the relevant traits of a JPEG image file type. So very briefly, we'll sort of touch base on what each of these settings on the rights node are firstly starting with the proxy setting right here. Now the proxy only applies if you actually have a proxy adjustment applied on your viewer and your project. So in order to check this out, just make sure your mother is hovering over the Properties tab, hit s. And you can see that actually have these two settings right here that says proxy mode and proxy skill.

So what this means is that during your working session, when you're working on your farm, you can actually view them in a smaller scale just to ensure that you render out things quicker in the playback or just for easier loading time, especially if your computer is very limited in space or RAM. Now, color space is the different kinds of color outputs that you want your digital image to appear in. That's all you need to know for now. Views again, basically just in case you're doing stereoscopic 3d work, there'll be left eye right eye file type, as you know, detail the file types available in each node in nuke, and of course when rendering out on Make sure to set the codec whether it is a video or an image file to pro res 444 in this case, just 4444. Now if you hover over it, you can see it tells you why because 444 provides the best quality output.

Let's just make sure my quality is set to 100 hit us on the Properties tab and and bring up the project settings you can set the frames per second for your footage here. Now since we are working with a still image, this really doesn't matter to us. The one that really you want to concentrate on for this is basically the full size format. Now reminder again, non commercial version limited to 1080 p, which is essentially 1920 by 10 ad, we cannot have anything that's larger than 10 ad be rendered form our non commercial version of nuke. So in that case, I'm actually going to create a new size format. Firstly, before I do that, I want to actually select the original 2000 by 3000.

And then I create a new one so they always have some reference of the aspect ratio right here. 600 by 900 the aspect ratios still be the same 10 ADP inverse small scale, just name off my format. Okay, now I want to make sure my frame range is correct. So I'm actually going to just hit one because I know that I only have one still image. So it really doesn't matter. And just to bring this back to comparisons, this is again, similar to After Effects work comp view range that we did earlier on, just to replicate that right here.

Custom duration one frame. So now we have that done. I'm just going to close my project settings. I'm going to click on this little x right here. And I'm just going to click Render. Let's just actually uncheck this use proxy and continuing error will actually continue if there's an error, we don't care about that.

Just going to set it to global which is the one project settings we set and then just going to hit OK. Okay, so the error is the bounding box. So what we need to do basically is have a reformat node. So hit tab, reformat, make sure there is reformat it to the root format on check this proxy in cases misleading. And now we can actually should be able to hit render. Well, that wasn't much of a weights, but voila, there you go.

So ending off with a free quick tip for you guys. If you're ever confused as to what has become of your composition in terms of format, after all that whole web of compositing, you can always use the view metadata node to view the metadata of your footage or work at any point in time. For example, I can do it right here. And I could also view it right before I render right here, just to double check that everything is still consistent. All righty, and that is the rep still confused pose your questions on Hello? Uh huh.

Yes. Okay. Yep. Alright, thanks. Okay, so David needs his art piece soon. We'll have to quickly finish it and send it off to him before he gets pissed if, if that is even possible.

I don't know. He's weird. Anyway, I will be assigning that job to you very briefly in the next lesson. Yes.
