We learned about sequence. Now it's time to start editing. So let's create a sequence using one of these clips. You will notice that the timeline has two parts, we one v two v three and so on denotes visual content. A one a two a three denotes audio. m here stands for mute.
The little icon means that you can either enable the clip or you can disable the clip, you can hide the video by clicking on it again. Now, we select this clip and double click on it. The video pops up in the source monitor. Now we can select only a particular portion of the clip that we need. This here is marking or it is also called as in point and this is Mark out. This is also called an endpoint.
So the selected portion can now be taken to the sequence. Here. If you need only the video, then we can click on this button and drag it to the sequence. It breaks In only the video. Moreover, you can do the same for the audio as well just click on this and drag it, it gets the audio port here. Now, let's bring in one more clip.
This time I'm taking only video you can place it next to the existing clip. If you place the new clip on top of this one, then we can't see the previous video. But if we want to hide any clip, then click on this icon and it disables the clip. If we select both the clips and click on this, then we can't see anything. We can move through the timeline by left clicking the time indicator. If you want to shorten the clip, then go to the extreme end and you will find the right icon like this.
Then you can move it to the point you need. This will trim the clip. This can be done towards the beginning as well. Once you finish trimming down the clip, you can move the clip anywhere you want. You can also see the preview in the program monitor here. Now if you move the indicator between the clips, you can see the preview of how the video looks.
If your PC is not able to handle the preview smoothly, you can go ahead and change this and this will change the resolution resulting in a better preview.
