Lesson Plan SAM Module 5 Download

Learning Objectives

  1. To continue assembling visual elements of clay figures, background scenery, props.

Activities

  • Set building

Materials

  • Writing paper pens/pencils
  • Modeling clay
  • Construction paper
  • Markers (thick and thin, assorted colors)
  • Tri-fold display board, black, at least 12” high when set up as a triptych
  • Small or Medium binder clips to hold the construction paper backdrop onto the display board
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • Transparent tape
  • Googly eyes

Preparation

  • Be sure to have a food storage container ready to contain the clay figures that are in progress. Use one closed food storage container for each class’s work in clay.

Terminology

Storyboard Frame: One scene in the animated movie.

Characters: The players in the story.

Set: The decorated stage where the story occurs.

Backdrop: The items of the set that are drawn on the back and sidewalls of the set to help create the scene.
For example windows, doors, picture frames, a view of nature and the outdoors, a cityscape of buildings, etc.
