Stop motion is one of the oldest techniques for creating moving images through the illusion of motion. Starting with the frame-by-frame concept, students create flipbooks to illustrate the principles of moving pictures.
Pre-production begins with envisioning a story, mapping it out onto storyboards, and writing a script. Participants build sets and create their characters before moving into the Production phase of filming.
Post-production activities include editing, sound design, special effects, and completing the movie with titles and credits.
This course includes everything needed to present and lead a successful stop motion animation program for the academic or creative enrichment of children.
Use iPads, tablets, or Smartphones withstands to capture and edit the images, or laptops or Chromebooks with separate webcams as recording and editing set-ups for this course, with one set-up per production team. Production teams work best with two to four members.
