Hello, this is Ron caban. How do I get visitors to my website? That is the billion dollar question. In fact, SEO, which means search engine optimization is probably a billion dollar industry. Search Engine Optimization is the phrase people use to explain the process of getting organic free visitors from search engines to your website. And this is how you do it.

You create great content and develop great relationships. those first two points are the most important points of all. So as long as you're creating great content, then people have got something to share. But of course, you can't just create great content and not talk about it. So the best way to get people to find out about the great content you make is to develop great relationships. And we'll talk about that later.

Two more pieces of advice. But these are more secondary and more technical, put keywords in your titles, as I've spoken about in other videos, and install Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress. So let's talk about what I mean about developing great relationships. So the first place that everyone would think about in terms of developing relationships online, of course, is social media. However, social media can be a terrible time suck, and I see a lot of people wasting a lot of time there. You have to be sure about a return on the time of investment that you get with social media.

It's not just a case of showing how many likes or how many followers you have on social media. There has to be an end product and the way you get the end product is to hone in on one platform. form one channel, maybe one group on one platform, so a Facebook group or a LinkedIn group, and then really help people on that platform on that channel. As long as you get a reputation as somebody who helps people, then you are doing something right on social media. It's not about the numbers of followers you have. Unfortunately, I would advise you to get a presence on all the major channels.

I think that's important. But as long as you're not spending lots of time on all channels, or even one channel during the week, if you're not making any money there, I think that's important. So don't do everything. Concentrate on just one channel, but have a presence on all the major channels, help people and post useful content. Don't just use social media. As a marketing tool, or an advertising tool, and tell everybody how great you are, or only just post your own content, but better than social media is real relationships, where you shake someone physically by the hand, and you look them physically in the face, when you're talking to them, it makes a hell of a lot of difference.

So try every way you can to meet people, either other entrepreneurs, or other business people who might be interested in your business, or just other people who might be interested in your business. And that will really help you develop the relationships. The big thing in SEO, and getting traffic to your websites, is links. If a lot of people link to you, then Google will think that you have good content. And then your content will rank well on Google search engine and you'll get a lot of traffic from Google And the way you get those links is through the relationships. And here's how you get the relationships.

You can comment on somebody else's blog. If you feel a relationship with that blogger would be advantageous. You can get in touch with them and do a guest post on their blog if you think the blog is relevant to your audience. Of course, you can meet people through social media as we've just explained. If you get on podcast interviews, this is always very good. The podcaster has to link to you or usually does when they've interviewed you.

And of course, the people who are listening to the interview will follow you to your website if they are interested in your business. And the best way of getting in touch with someone online. If it's somebody you believe would be a good contact is in a similar type of business to you and maybe one step along the journey. From where you are, is just to email them, find their email through their contact form, or contact page on their website and start a relationship in that way. But remember, either ask them a question or offer them some help. One thing I never do is just ask people for links.

Now I talk a lot about making the website, the hub of your online world. I think that's very important. What I don't advise you to do is to build a presence on a third party platform like a social media site or Amazon and not have a website at all. Because third parties websites, they can suddenly change their rules, and you can lose all your following and all your money. So the website is extremely important, but it's not all about the websites. There are other things to consider.

First of all, email, collecting people's email addresses from the website, and then emailing Then either a newsletter or other types of emails, that's extremely important. And I'll be coming on to that in the next video. But there's also your presence on social media platforms as well as your website. Remember, I said don't concentrate on them or only concentrate on one of them if you really want to, but they are important, and they are of increasing importance and a great way to grow your following and to build relationships. But further than that, if you are interested in either writing or video, then two places I've had great success is in books and video courses. So these are great examples of growing your business growing your following growing your readership and your customer base and getting paid at the same time.

And you can do that with books. Kindle books only need to be 12 or 14,000 words. You can write that very easily. In a month, and video, you can create a video course in a month very easily with basic video skills. And that can be another income stream. But it can also be another way you can grow your audience and your business.

But the first point I made, there was email. And email is the bridge between visitors and customers, your visitors or what your audience, as we've been talking about, are people who are kind of in your sphere of influence. Maybe they know who you are. they've read something you've written, or they've seen something you've posted or shared, but they're not a customer. How do you turn a visitor into a customer? The answer is email, get their email address and send them emails, and I'll be talking about that in the next video.
