Hello, this is Rob cabin. Now why have I raced through in 10 minutes, the process of registering a domain name getting hosting, setting up WordPress and creating pages of a website on the World Wide Web. I did that all in 10 minutes. It sounds like I want to do something slapdash. And it doesn't matter what it looks like. I'm a graphic designer, I did web and graphic design.
So I do understand the importance of good design. However, what I'm trying to show to you is the importance of content online content is king. The style or design that the content is delivered in can be changed independently. So it doesn't matter so much at the beginning. If you have an ugly looking website with great content, rather than a beautiful website, designed with no substance, so I've seen a lot of entrepreneurs stress in the early days about getting a perfect website launch design. It's ridiculous.
When you first start a website, nobody's gonna see it anyway, you need the content to draw people in. So why is there a desperate need for you to create content on your website, because without it, you'll never know if you're offering the right information, or the right products to the right audience. And you might not even know who your audience is. your content is a conversation starter between you and your customers. content and conversations will carry on for the lifetime of your business. The more content you put out and feedback you get back, the better you'll understand the market and the more money you'll make.
So what is content? content is any information that you can share So your potential audience that they will find helpful, valuable or entertaining. So it's written articles, but it could be video, it could be iTunes. So here's a question for you. What do Sir Richard Branson, Seth Godin, and James altucher having common? They're all a millionaire entrepreneurs with great businesses.
Yes, but there's another similarity. They all create regular, free quality content every day. And if it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for us. So always regularly create useful, relevant content. And always do it on your website, even if you're a YouTube video ographers. You should also have all your videos on your website.
If you're great at podcasts and you have a fantastic podcast on iTunes. You should also have great content on your website. The platforms are great like Amazon, Facebook, etc, etc. However they can change and take your audience away. Your websites is yours and you have more control over it. So you should always create content on your website.
But what sort of content should you create? As I say, you should create useful, relevant content about what you know. So you have to come from a position of authenticity. You have to be honest and know what you're talking about. Okay, we're going to talk about this in the next video. My name's Rob carbon.
