Hello, this is Rob carbon. Hopefully I've convinced you that you should create content. Even if you have thousands of dollars to spend on advertising. I believe you still need to create free content in order to first understand your audience and your customers, which will better inform your advertising. But what sort of content should I create? Well, I think content should be really personal.

I think you should talk about what you know. I don't think you should write general articles around stuff you know nothing about sounds obvious, but believe me, the internet is full of people creating content about stuff they don't understand. So be yourself. Talk about what you do and the best practices about it, but not in an salesy way. Maybe you've written emails recently. Or resin other documents about something that you know a lot about, you could paste that in to a blog post, maybe you've created some video or some audio, maybe you can put that up on YouTube or on your website.

There may be content out there already that you've created that can be repurposed. You should be honest, I've published income reports every quarter. And these are passive income profit reports to give people an idea exactly where my income streams are coming from. I put it all in there. It's not easy. It's not easy to be honest.

It's not easy to admit your failures and be transparent and hold yourself up to be vulnerable. But it's content that people will really appreciate. It will really help them so it's likely to be shared, and that improves the marketing for your business. You should also be very specific, so Don't write these general articles, because that just won't get noticed. The beauty of the internet is that you can help just a very few people, and still create an audience because you're talking to the world. Over half of Google queries are more than three words.

So make the titles of your content as specific as possible. And I'll give you examples of this in future videos. 15% of all searches typed into Google have never been typed into Google before. Every day. This happens, new searches coming up. So there's a lot of new traffic out there, looking for content, looking for solutions looking for answers.

You can be the one to be specific enough in order to help people with the content and then create products and services that they will consume. By what I'm talking about is the long tail. It's to the right of this graph here. The more descriptive key phrases that people search for on Google and other search engines, the highly competitive single word phrases, and two word phrases like weight loss and make money. Forget about that, because you're not gonna get ranked for those phrases, some more ideas, and this one's pretty obvious. Just ask your customers what they want, what sort of content they want, what sorts of products they want.

The best way to do this is to start collecting email subscribers, and I'll be talking about this in later videos. If you get someone who signs up to your email list who gives you their email address through your website, the first question you can ask them and you can do this automatically is what are you struggling with? The answers you get back will be pure gold and inform your content and inform your product creation. similar question to ask b2b clients, what's the number one issue in your business today? See if you can address that issue in your content and in your products. Another question you can ask people, if you have a magic wand, and that would make one problem disappear.

What would that problem be? Ask that to your email subscribers, or to your customers, and see if you can create content and products around that issue. Don't be afraid to express your honest opinions about your business, even if they are different to what everyone else is saying. One of the huge big problems online at the moment, are gurus writing about topics and techniques and tips and tools and strategies that they used once upon a time in their business to their customers. Surprise, surprise, you might find that their advice might not be relevant to you. So if you just give your honest opinion about what's working for you, you might find your breath of fresh air in online content today.

So don't be afraid to be yourself. Then once you've started creating content and you start to get an audience, it doesn't matter how small it is, at first, it's great to start the conversation with them. So whenever you get a comment on an article, or a YouTube video on a social media post, or if you ever get an email out of the blue that's about your business, your content. Always try and be genuinely helpful to that person. Even though sometimes they may seem a little bit annoying. Never be annoying back.

Always try and answer the comment genuinely, and tries to be helpful business in general is Just about being helpful to people, the more people you help, the more your business will grow. And human beings ingest content best when it's told in the form of a story. And the best way to tell a story is to tell your own story. Tell the honest story about you and your business. Why did you set up this business? What is your background?

Where do you come from? What is driving you forward at this moment? What is working for you? What hasn't worked for you? This is the content that's easiest to create, but also is the content that people love to consume. People love to share it.

And it's the most easy to forge a relationship between you and your audience, and your customers. So I want you to get a piece of paper out and write down these four things. Think of something you've learned how to do recently. something specific can you create content about it? Think of something that people regularly ask you. Can you provide the solution?
