Hi in this segment we're going to look at the respiratory system. The respiratory system is responsible for taking oxygen from outside the body into the lungs, and eliminating carbon dioxide which is one of the waste products of the body, and if allowed to accumulate, it can actually be lethal. The respiratory system is comprised of three sections or three major areas, the airway, the lungs, and the muscles of respiration. The airway is responsible for bringing oxygen from outside the body into the lungs, and it includes your nose in your mouth, and then the air travels into your throat known as your pharynx. from there into your voicebox, or your larynx, down your trachea, which is also known as your windpipe and then travels into your primary bronchitis which go to the lungs and the bronc a then branch off to the bronchioles, your lungs are the functional units of the respiratory system.

Their job is to bring oxygen to the body and to eliminate carbon dioxide. The muscles of respiration are your diaphragm which is the muscle of respiration and your intercostal muscles. These muscles function together like a pump pushing air into and out of your lungs. This is the respiratory system.
