NASA grant your instructor. I began my career writing a newspaper column about life on a lighthouse. And I went on to become a freelance journalist and radio broadcaster writing novels in my spare time. I was thrilled when my first novel sold in 1985. And since then, I've written 34 more novels and to nonfiction works. I've also taught writing workshops in Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
In this course, you'll discover how to build tension, emphasize the important story of events and control your stories pacing, while increasing the readers engagement. We'll explore story pacing with its three different timing clocks, and a formula that can help you control the relationship between time speed, viewpoint depth, and emotional intensity. Then we'll go on to look at the way readers perception of time flux With the level of excitement, and we'll study the techniques you can use to control pacing and your readers level of excitement. And finally, we'll study the effect that different writing modes have on pacing, and how you can control pacing and speed using these modes. I designed this course for writers who want to improve their control over pacing in a way that maximizes reader engagement. The only requirement for enrollment is a willingness to learn
