The final song that we're going to learn in the key of E is key to the highway by Big Bill broonzy. This is a tremendous Sorry, it's really fun to play. It's got a basic pattern to it, but there's also a really cool so an intro and a great turnaround that you'll play throughout the song. So let's start out I'll play a little bit of it for you. And then we'll we'll start figuring it out. So there you have a taste of key to the highway now there's a solo in there and we'll learn that as we go through.
But let's start out again just talking about the chords and with all our songs in the key of E, this one's got three chords, we've got an E. But the progression is a little different. So we start out actually over the five, which is a B seven. Now, up to now we've been playing our B seventh like this. And we still will in this song, but we're also going to take an a seventh chord Move it up to threats. So my bar is at the fourth fret. And my ring finger goes on the first string at the fifth fret.
That is a B seventh. And the bass we're going to use with the monotonic bass over that which we played in the introduction is going to be over the going to be the fourth string. We're also going to take our Pinkie and go here, which makes a long B. If you remember our long a, we're just moving that two frets up along B and we're going back and forth between the B and the B seventh and I'll show you how we do that here in a minute. So in key to the highway, we start each verse on the five, actually the one and we go to the five. Then we're gonna go to the four which is an a seven.
We're gonna go back to the one and then we're going to use that other B seven shape. And then the one so we still got three chords. What's different with key to the highway is the progression of the chords and then also we're going to throw in that a seventh shape B seven with which Big Bill broonzy used quite a bit. So key to the highway. We'll start with the introduction. We'll learn the basic first and then we'll learn the solo and the untag.
