Listen to blind Blake's, that'll never happen no more. There's a couple of really cool parts here. One of these is the turnaround that he uses. And as he ends the verse, let me just play through one time for the end of a verse that turn around what he's doing. He's gonna pick a G chord, the bass, the third fret of the sixth string. He's gonna put his ring finger on the third fret of the fourth string, keeping the pinky on the third fret of the first string.

So we've got this, we got to get out of it. So we got that Right there, you check the tab on. He's gonna make a C chord. pinching, I think he is is more than just this first finger. I'm trying to play this with just the first finger. So I'm pinching the fifth string and then getting the second and third string.

So we've got he's gonna move to this chord shape. And what am I doing here, this is kind of tricky. I've got my first finger on the first fret of the fourth string, my second finger is on the second fret of the second string, my pinky still on the third fret of the first string, and my ring finger is on the third fret of the third string. So we've got this. Again, I'm pinching the fourth string This time with the second, the third strike. Now we're coming back to a G. So we've got I think I play the D seven can use that or a D. Major.

So that whole turnaround one more time was played in context from the end of a verse. That is really fun to play. Again, I think it'd be a lot easier if you put another pick on your second finger and that way you could kind of grab all three strings and those chords, which is what I think Blake does, he played the guitar a lot like you'd play a piano and the only alternating bass style is already a little bit like a piano but using more than just two fingers, you know it's that's closer to what what you do with a piano and some guys like blind Blake and others did that on the guitar. So anyway, that's one really cool part of the sign up. Another really cool thing that he does and that'll never happen no more. It's this great little solo thing.

And he's going to be using this roll rolling motion with his thumb and his first finger and he starts out let's take it from the end of the verse and I'll show you where this fits in. Actually he does this a little differently. He doesn't use the turnaround, we got something like this what he's doing here on this, because he started out with an open sixth day and then coming down on the third fret of the sixth string. He's picking a with his thumb and his first finger. Got this rolling motion going with your thumb and your first finger. Then open fourth string, play in the same motion, like that.

And then this shape again. So we're using the same shapes that we used in that turnaround, but we're just doing this and listen to the bass. It's here, the bass descending. Bam, bam, bam, bam. That's what you got to keep going in the right hand is just doing this same lick the whole way through. So here's what we got.

We're gonna go back into our key. So that little lick, they're taking my pinky onto the third fret of the second string. And I'm getting the open first string and then to an E seven, D seven G, back to the G. Or we could use that turn around. What I'm trying to do here is if you listen to the song, and you hear these parts, you can stop and figure out what's going on, use my tab, I've got a tab out exactly for you. And it's kind of hard. Some of these tunes are kind of hard to explain.

So let me play that one more time for you that little solo riff that he does now I'll take it in context. So I'll start a verse He actually plays that in the solo where he just plays the chords. And then he goes into the verse listen to the song. And what I've tried to do with the tab is break it up into parts. So you can try to work on each part of this separately, get it down and put it all together, which is how, how I learned it. That'll never happen no more.

There's a few other real subtle things that he does, like when it gets to the a seven. Sometimes they'll stumble into that base with the open six little things like that, that you'll hear on the recording. But for now, you know, the whole point of this lesson series is just to help you practice and get the alternative base down and some of the basic licks. This is kind of a more advanced tune, but it's one that's not too hard to play the basic 10 and it doesn't take too much to learn those those other parts which are really fun to play. We've got one more tune left in the key of G and let's go for it right now.
