In this video, we are going to continue where we left off and use this social media graphic that we created for Instagram post and adapted to different social media sizes. So as I said in the previous videos, you can save it by hitting Ctrl S and it will go back to the social media cheat sheet. Or if you want to save it directly to a desktop, for example, you just want these this particular size and none other, you can go to the File, Save As and save it to your desktop, or your preferred folder in your computer. But let's say you want to create an Instagram story as well. Double click right here to open up Instagram story. Click the icon to hide the text.
Go back to the Instagram post or if you closed it, simply double click right here in the Instagram post to open it up. You can rearrange these tabs same way like you can on your internet browser. So left click and move it left and right If you want to, and we want to choose all of these elements, drag and drop them right here to our Instagram story size. So how can we do that, simply click on the first one, hold Shift, click on the last one. And we can simply drag and drop them right here using the move tool. But keep in mind, this image extends to the right, as you can see right here, if we click on the image layer, you can see it extends to the right, so just keep that in mind.
We want to align it to the middle as well as to the left edge. So once again, click on the first one, hold Shift, click on the last one. You can also group it if it's easier to you by hitting Ctrl G and it will create a group use the Move tool. Once again shortcut is V on your keyboard click, hold your left mouse click and drag and drop it right here. Now we want to position it in the middle so control Click right here, we want to position it in the middle like so, as well as to the left edge because as I said, image extends right here to this right edge. So click right here to the left edge.
So it's again top edge, middle, bottom edge, left edge, middle, and right edge Ctrl D to deselect. And now we can ungroup our group. But before that we can move it above this Instagram story text, right click ungroup layers, and now they're outside of the group. So what we are going to do now, as in our particular case, as you can see, this main Instagram, Stoli layer is sort of gray color, and our image is a white color. Now, to change it, you can simply double click right here because it's a sheep layer. So once again, inside of the Instagram story right here, where this Acronis double click with your left mouse click, and simply select a white from our background image.
Click OK. And if we didn't do a good enough job, as you can see, we didn't, we can use some other methods to increase the possibility of hitting or creating the right color balance. So to do that, we can click on the main image, use this rectangular marquee tool, which is basically a selection like it is on your computer. You can zoom in by holding once again alt and scroll wheel on your mouse. You can click right here on the Zoom tool or you can pinch to zoom on your laptop trackpad. You can select this area on the bottom right here, click shift f5 this dialog will pop up and from here you have to choose Content Aware you Content Aware will choose bottom part of this image as an end. As you can see it's very bottom and we chose just a tiny sample of it, and it will try to fail and do the best it can to fail this bottom part of your image.
So press OK. And as you can see it did quite well Ctrl D to deselect. Now, it chose that sample and extend it to feel the bottom part of our image. If I click Ctrl zero, it will snap back. And as you can see, we are only left with our top part of the image because in some cases it's pure white. In some cases it isn't. So once again, you can click on the image, see where it ends by pressing V, click right here on the rectangle marquee tool and select simply just this top part of the image.
F5 use Content Aware once again, press OK. And as you can see, it did quite a good job except for this part right here, which is also okay. If I zoom in a bit closer, you can see it picked up some line from somewhere inside the image, which will happen most of the time. But you can also fix this with a quick fix. You can click right here, which is a clone stamp tool. And how it works is you're going to sample an area of the image near to the part of the image that you want to hide. So for example, here to hide this part by clicking alt, and it will show you this arrow and you can click with your left mouse click in the area that you want to sample.
So once again, Alt and click right here and then simply call back paint this area of the image that you want to hide it did quite a good job. But we have to repeat it once again by simply clicking right here. And as you can see it did awesome job for this particular image. Now, if you want to increase the size of this frame to make it a bit different than it is right here inside of our Instagram post, you can do that as well simply click on the frame, use the Move Tool once again shortcut is V, click and hold Shift or you can hold Shift and Alt and it will increase in both horizontally and vertically. And you can do it for example right here, press this checkmark or enter or return on your keyboard. But keep in mind, if you're creating for Instagram story right here at the top will be the image right here would be the slider and right here at the bottom will be this send message, tab and so on So make sure if you're creating these Instagram stories to keep your frames and your elements inside of your graphics lower.
So once again click hold Shift Alt, and then just go a bit lower like self because here is where the image will end you can test this out, I cannot give you exact measurements because Instagram stories have one dimension but screens are different. So for example, this is 1080 by 1920, which is Instagram proposed size, but on some phones image will appear smaller or larger or so on and so forth. So you really have to try and test this out. You can believe it like so. But if you decide to call otherwise. So for example, like so, you can do that as well.
And if you want bottom part to be lower, you can simply click with your left mouse Click for example like so. But let's say you want to keep it like this, press Enter or Return. And now as I said, when we were creating this because this is a non destructive method, let me right click and ungroup player so you can see them as well. Because it's a non destructive methods and we used a layer mask, we can go back, click inside of a layer mask, zoom in a bit closer. And as you can see, our holes are now right here at the top. To fix it, you can simply click right here on these arrows to switch the colors and now White is in top and black is at the bottom, press B for the brush tool and simply paint to fill it out.
Go right here, paint and you can hold shift on your keyboard to go right here at the bottom. You can do it like so. zoom in a bit closer or a bit further. It's really up to you. Now right here. We want to show it as well.
As x on your keyboard, which is a shortcut for this, these arrows to switch colors, so if the black is on top, it will hide and if the white is on top, it will reveal and you can go back and refine your selections as much as you like. But let's say we have finished. And now one last thing I want to do is move this button to the bottom. So choose btn which is a background, which is a shorter name for the button. Choose website as well by holding CTRL and then do Ctrl J sorry, Ctrl G, so we can group it, double click right here and type button, press Enter or Return. And now let's move this button to the bottom.
By using the move tool, click right here and move it to the bottom control click right here inside of the Instagram story. He was the Moto press right here in the middle and we can control the To deselect everything, we can maybe increase the size of this button a bit. So Shift Alt, click with your left click in one of the corners and drag to increase the size, press Enter or Return. And you can also Shift, click, move it right here, bottom and then shift and your top arrow key, press it a couple of times. So 12345678, for example, it's now 80 pixels from the bottom when you're holding Shift, and when you're holding just your arrow keys and clicking them one by one, it will move by a single pixel top bottom left to right, it doesn't matter. And if when you're holding Shift, it moves by 10 pixels in any direction.
So one final thing for us, which is to save it to our desktop. To do that File, Save As and save it or to save it back to the social media treat You simply hit Ctrl S, and it will go back. And as you can see, now we have both sizes for Instagram. And one final thing. Let's say we want to add a Facebook post as well. So open up the Facebook post, double click right here on the Facebook post open and up high the Facebook post, go back to the Instagram post and simply Ctrl G, so we can group it, click drag and drop it inside or using modal.
Now we can position it like so because it's not a rectangle, hold shift and left mouse click in one of the corners and then simply reduce the size until it meets right here. Press this check mark or Enter or Return. Right click to open it up. And now instead of top and bottom, we have to fill in this right side. So click on the image. Let me click Ctrl zero It gets snapped back into place.
Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool once again, select this right portion of your image, shift f5. So Content Aware will appear, press OK and it will fill this remaining part of your image. Now we want to extend the frame to the right. But if you look closely, it's now too fat for this image. So you can click on the frame, press A and then simply reduce the size of the frame to five for example, press Enter or Return. And now we want to extend our frame to the right by clicking the move tool.
And you can simply click right here and move it to the right press Enter or Return. And as you can see, we have to make some changes once again to our frame. But before we do that, let's move all of this. So click on the first one, hold Shift click on the last one and you can position it in the middle right here. You can do the same for the button as we did for the Instagram Stories if you want to position it in some other parts of the image, but if you want to keep it here, let's use the frame. So once again, click right here inside the mask, press B for the brush to zoom in a bit closer, and you can fill in if your white is on top, or you can hide a few black is on top.
So we want to fill in this part. Once again, hold space and left mouse click you want to navigate. Now to see this part, as I said, reduce the opacity so you can see what you're doing. Change the colors or you can click x on your keyboard if it's easier that way. Right click reduce the size of your brush, and then simply paint to remove parts of your frame. Increase the opacity so you can see what it looks okay.
And now let's simply move on to other parts of our image. So for example, this part right here You're going to pay to paint it in. And now I want to change it to x. So I can go to around here and continue from around here, go all the way to this bowl right here, press X, so I can hide it from this part right here. Ctrl zero. And that looks good, except for this part right here.
So press X once again, and simply paint it in to remove it, and that's it Ctrl S to save it back to our social media cheat sheet or if you want to save it to a desktop once again, File, Save As and save to the desktop. But now you can see we have three different sizes for two different social media networks. And it's really easy to do once you have your desired look of the graphic and using our social media cheat sheet because everything is in one place. Now once again When you're saving these graphics, I recommend you check out our image optimization for social media course. Because it I go deep and explain why it's important to optimize your images before upload and what it can bring to you when you start uploading those images to the social media networks.
