Now one final thing I'm going to show you in this course, is how you can adapt social media graphics to different sizes using Adobe XD, you can download Adobe XD for free from your Adobe Creative Cloud App. And if you're also having a subscription, it's, it comes inside of that subscription as well. But before we can use it, let's simply save this Instagram post, for example. So go right here to the File, Save As, and now we can save it right here to this folder. So for example, save, yes. Okay, and it's now saved inside of our folder.
And when I'm also here, you can go to the File Savers, just to show you how this looks like. So you can name it right here and click right here to choose different file formats. So for example, JPEG is the most frequent one. And also, the PNG is as well. Bye In most cases, I recommend using JPEG. So just select it from there, click Save.
This dialog will pop up. This is for the file size, but simple click OK. If your files are too big, as I said, simply go to the image optimization for social media course and it will be explained in there. So when we are inside of our folder, you can see how this looks like so we saved JPEG image and we saved Photoshop template which we are going to use inside of our Adobe XD. So this is how Adobe XD looks like. And if you go right here to the home, you can select different types of sizes.
So for example, you can type right here 1080 by 1080, press enter and it will create a size like this you can also file open to your computer just desktop, social media graphics, double click and open it up. And when it opens up, it opens up in another file. So if you want to drag and drop it right here, you can do that too. To do that, simply select everything Ctrl C, close this, click right here Ctrl V, and it will paste right inside of that artboard. Now artboards are the size, the sizes, same way like we created them right here, but these are not artboards. They are simply different sizes for social media images.
But right here you have to create artboards because it's a vector tool and Photoshop is a bitmap tool. Now, if you want to increase or decrease in the size of your post You can do that by simply going back to the social media cheat sheet. Open up, for example, what we added in the Facebook post, click right here and then right here to properties and you can see it's 1200 by 630. Go back to the Adobe XD, click on your artboard. Let's say this is an Instagram post Ctrl or Command D, so you can duplicate it, and double click right here to the right Facebook post. So we said 1200 by 630, what you need to do is click right here where it says responsive resize and then increase the size of all of these elements.
Now for some elements, it will work for us or for others it won't so 1200 when you get close, you can click right here and simply Type 1200 by 630. So, move it up a bit. So let's say 630 right here. Now you can see what it did, it didn't do a really good job, but you can also increase or decrease the size of your image. And as you can see, it's quite a bit different than what we created in Photoshop. But you can also click right here to the frame.
And because Adobe XD does not support layer masks like Photoshop does, you don't have the option to mask different parts of your image but I just wanted to show you because you already have Adobe XD that you can use so why not show you that you have this option as well inside of your Adobe package. And now it's More of this and as you can see layers are exactly the same as they are in Photoshop. But just this is a vector program, and it's mostly used for UI and UX designs. But as you can see, you can also use it to create different social media posts and sizes. And to export one of these simple click on the name Ctrl E on your keyboard. And as you can see how you can change the location of the export.
So for example, click Change, click desktop, you can choose PNG, SVG, which is great for the web, but great for the web design and not the social media graphics. In most cases, you're going to use jpg, click Export and it will export to your desired location. Now one final thing to do like we did in inside of the Photoshop, let's move this around. And let's click on this one responsive resize. And we want to increase the height to 1920. Same like we did.
So 1920 same like we did in Photoshop. As you can see, it did quite a good job, double click on the image hold Shift, so you can increase its size. But as you can see, it will look quite a bit different than it did in Photoshop. So if this is what you're after, you can do that as well. Let's move this down just touch click on the button, increase the size, move it right here, I think we used ad. So 12345678 by holding shift in most 10 pixels up and down.
You can also create groups right here so Ctrl G same and then you have to click on the Instagram post And click right here so you can adjust it to the mill commands are exactly the same as they are in Photoshop. And now as you can see, we have graphics like we have in Photoshop, but we use responsive resize function inside of Adobe XD to create them. And one final thing I want to show you is double click right here and simply remove rename it to story. And as you can see, they look a bit different than they were looking for shop. But once again, if you don't have Photoshop, or you just want to explore some possibilities, you have Adobe XD, which is a great tool for web design, but also it can be used for things like this. So for social media graphics, for example.
Just move this touch, just a touch and go back to Photoshop. And that's basically it. That's how you can use our social media cheat sheet inside of Photoshop, and you can then export the graphic, save it as a PSD file, open it up in Adobe XD and you can play around with responsive resize if you want to. But in my opinion, still, the best tool for creating social media graphics is Adobe Photoshop because you just have so many options that other tools don't have. And when you're paying for other tools as well, why don't just pay for this Adobe Creative Cloud and have Photoshop and all of these options. Be ready for you whenever you want and whenever you need them.
So if you're already using Adobe Photoshop to create your social media graphics, you can now use our social media cheat sheet to increase the speed at which you're creating social media graphics for different social media networks.
