The project should address issues which are important to the customer. Let's face it, guys, those organizations that do not focus on customer issues do not survive. giants such as Amazon, Google, Facebook, PepsiCo are not just surviving but thriving in the industry because of their focus and ability on resolving those issues that are important to their customers. The improvements that you do should be locally actionable. This is another important point, project members have a tendency to recommend improvements that may not be locally actionable. They tend to pass the buck to the other departments, locations or even suppliers.
If this happens, there is a high possibility for the project to fail or get scrapped. Because what is important for us may not be important for the other party. Hence, it is always advisable to identify improvements that are locally actionable. In summary, projects must be tightly bound and should not focus on solving world hunger.
