So in this video, I actually just wanted to show you kind of a comparison of a good Google Plus business page in comparison to one that really has not been filled out. And it's just really not optimized whatsoever. Any business that's out there that hasn't taken the time to do this is really just hurting themselves. They're basically losing opportunity to get some extra visibility on their business for people to find them on their cell phones or just searching on Google for anything to do with what they offer as a business. So in this first example, this is an insurance company that's actually a local company I've worked with for a few months. A few of the things that I'm going to point out that make a good profile are here, they've got a profile image, this sort of circle here.

They've got a big cover image here. They've obviously added in their actual address, their phone number and a website URL. You can also see they've got a few followers, which is using the Google Plus social media. You know, people can follow with the Google Plus and you can see all They've gotten around 26,000 views. The other thing that's very notable here as well, which is very important is this sort of gray shield checkbox, it actually shows that the business has been verified with Google, Google actually will send out a postcard, which I'll talk about a little bit more in the upcoming videos. But they'll send you a postcard.

And you basically get a series of numbers and they're very unique, you'll only be able to enter these numbers. And this is how you verify your profile based on this car that Google sends you. So I'm going to talk about that a little bit in some of the upcoming lectures. In terms of the actual profile. Here, you can see they put themselves in a couple different categories. So not only are they an insurance agency, but they will also offer home insurance.

In terms of description, we just have kind of like a brief you know, since 1991, so you've even Holland Andover ma has worked hard at creating Insurance Agency, yada, yada, yada. And the other thing is we have a link here. That includes both their stories city and state. And if you click on that, it also goes to their website just like the link above. I don't know if there's a huge advantage to that. But you know, it helps maybe just having some extra areas there where people can come find your site.

And then they've got a professional Google Plus URL. It's not like a bunch of gibberish numbers and all kinds of junk. It's basically Seagrave and Hall, insurance associates and over so it's very easy and clean, you know, you could probably send that to someone, it's just not going to look like a bunch of junk. And then one of the bigger important things, which we will be talking about later on in the course, is they have these reviews here, you can see any of the customers that have left reviews. In fact, here's a review that I left for them. And you know, you as a business, you could respond to any of these.

I'm actually a manager of this page. So I could respond to these, you know, if I were part of the business, I could say, you know, thank you for leaving this great review, and so on and so forth. I'm going to talk more about reviews later on in the course, but for now Want to show you a couple other things in terms of posts here you can see they're making regular posts. You know, back in like March and April, they had some posts about different types of articles that they have. And, you know, they just sort of highlight some of these tags like insurance and and over things like that. If we go over to photos, you can see that they have lots of different business photos, you know, that's the building they're in.

This is the team, you know, photos of their office, different like logos, things like that. So they've got some good, just kind of presence here to show people what they're all about. I don't believe they have any videos. But this is something that if you do link it up to your YouTube page, you could do that. And then again, here's the review area, I think. I think it just shows that now on the about page.

So other than that, I mean, that's pretty much it for an optimized profile. It's not a whole lot there. It's very easy to do. I mean, you could do this in less than an hour if you had some photos of your business. So now here I wanted to show An example this is a plumbing company that I found in Atkinson, New Hampshire, I just pulled up any random profile I could find that wasn't filled out. So here you can see that they have no profile picture, there's no cover image.

So by default, it shows a Google Map. They do have a website here. And they do have a phone number. So that's at least good. But there's really nothing else. There's no photos, they don't have any business reviews.

There's nothing for description as to who they are. Besides saying that they're a plumber. It just really doesn't give people a feel of confidence, you know, to call this company, if I was looking for a plumber and Atkinson, I probably would not choose them, I would probably choose a company that has some reviews and has really kind of fill this thing out and just has some personality going on, you know, talking about who they are and what they're all about. So I just wanted to show you guys this. In the next coming videos, I'm actually going to walk you through the process of creating one of these. And something else I do want to mention is if you already do have a Google Plus page, which is In a lot of cases, a lot of businesses already will.

I know Google also kind of migrated some stuff from long ago, where they had moved a bunch of old listings that were in some older systems, and they just created a business listing for you. And this almost looks like something like like that, that that would have happened here with this drain King, where they just created this and you know, nothing really, these guys didn't do anything with it. So you may want to do is actually go to Google, and type in your business name, and then a space and that and just add Google plus to the end of the search, and see if there's a profile already out there. You know, if there is one you can get in touch with Google. And generally, what they'll be able to do is if you get someone on the phone, and your phone number and addresses here, they're just going to want to have you call the number and verify that it's really you.

So you can get kind of get control back of the account. I talked to lots of businesses as well, but they have a profile out there and they just have no idea how to get into it, how to fix it, and all That stuff and if you call up Google they will be pretty helpful. If your address in a working phone numbers there, they can help you get a transfer to, you know, good gmail account or Google account that you can use for setting this up.
