A really good question to ask yourself is whether or not you should be building your own website or hiring someone to do a site for you. in an upcoming lecture, I'm going to talk a little bit about a platform called WordPress. And generally, to do a WordPress site, you could do this on your own, you could take the time to learn it. Generally, for a lot of people, it's a little bit easier to kind of log in to the site and be able to manage things like articles and make small updates here and there. But when it comes to the actual design aspect, you know, getting graphics done and installing themes and plugins, and all these other things that you'll need to be doing to kind of get your site functional. It can be a little bit more complicated.

And even setting up and purchasing a domain, getting web hosting all these things that you know, you just may completely have no clue on how to do this stuff. What I would recommend is very least you know you have a little bit of money to invest in having someone build a site for you. I would go out and try to find someone who could do a WordPress site for a low amount of money you know if you've got a few thousand dollars To spend, you could have something done that's really really high quality, you know, it's gonna last a long time. But in other cases, you may find that you could find someone to do a WordPress site for anywhere from kind of 500 to $1,000. If it's not going to be, you know, it'll probably be a nice looking site, but you're not going to get some super high end like high quality custom, you know, website that someone would build, you know, for thousands of dollars.

So this is just something to keep in mind. If you want to sort of dive into this on your own, I am going to be leaving links in the upcoming lectures to show you a couple different platforms, and then let you sort of decide what's best for you. If you already have a website, then most of this is really going to be irrelevant. If you're using a platform that's outside of a couple of the platforms I recommend, then it may actually be, you know, good for you to look into the potential of maybe building on one of these platforms, because it's gonna make your life a lot easier for doing updates, being able to log into your site and make changes. I'm going to be showing you two platforms. Which are Squarespace and WordPress.
