The next thing that I want you to notice on the chart that there are the numbers one through 64 in the centers. Now these numbers are called gates. So all of those numbers one through 64 that are within the center's are called gates. Each one of these 64 gates correlates to one of the hexagrams of the Chinese eaching. Now you're going to notice that those numbers are not in numerical order. However, they are in a very specific order and they have an assigned location on the chart, they will always occupy the same location.
When you look at those gates or those numbers, you're going to see that some of them have been colored in this means that they have been activated. So whenever we have a colored in gate on the chart, we say that gate has been defined or activated. For example, if you look at your chart and you you happen to have the gate 13 colored in or defined, then this is the gate of secrets. Have you ever wondered why maybe even complete strangers feel like it's okay to confide in you to share their secrets with you? It's because your gate 13 says to them, it's okay, it's safe for you to share your secrets with me. This is just one example of a defined gate.
I'd like to give you a few more examples of defined gates. For example, the gate 19, which is located in the route center, that's the center at the very bottom of your chart, the gate 19 if it has been colored in or activated or defined on your chart, that means that you have a certain level of sensitivity. In fact, you probably get your feelings hurt rather easily. You're also sensitive on other levels. I happen to have the gate 19 defined and I had the tendency to cut the tags out of my clothing because I find them to be annoying. If I get one little pebble in my shoe, I have to stop to take it out before I take another step.
I also have the tendency to wear my socks inside out because sometimes the seams are extremely annoying to me. So the gate 19 is one of the gates of sensitivity. Another example of a define gate would be the gate number 33. So if you had the gate 33, colored and or defined on your chart 33 is the gate of retreat. This means that you will need a lone time on a regular basis it's important for you to have a safe place to retreat to and to do so on a regular basis.
