If you are a human being, you have been pre-destined to live in a relational world.

Why? Because to be human you needed to be conceived and born of a human father and mother. And just because of that, you will have had two sets of grandparents, great-grandparents, indeed, and ancestors as far back as beyond your records of a family tree. Perhaps you have siblings, uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces. Perhaps today even you have a partner with children. Get the picture? You live in a connected world.

Growing up you will also have developed friendships – in your neighborhood, school, and social communities. In the course of your life, you may have encountered a family pet or two. Perhaps you visited a zoo, a park, a forest, a mountain, a lake, or a river – in fact an unlimited set of experiences you could relate to in your environment. The same environment that is shared by others.

We also relate to possessions. We relate to other material forms such as art, literature, and other media.

At QuestUnique, we believe it is this relational world that sustains you. You develop and grow as much of your own essential human potential as you choose within the circumstances of your own evolution. The journey of a single human being, like you, can only achieve a sense of fulfillment through your interactions in your own, unique, relational world. Your travels of becoming need your relational world.

With this fact of reality, comes an onerous duty for each and every individual human being as you develop your own sense of identity and independence. In simple terms, you have to contribute to the sustainability of your relational world. You may decide to have a job, vocation, career, or profession. Whatever you choose will dictate how you pay back and pay forward to your own, albeit, changing and evolving relational world.

Your human being self, your relational world, and your professional world are all just conceptual components of your own holistic individuality. As a human being, you live both responding i.e., through choice, or re-action i.e., by instinct. You do both. Sometimes you are the captain of your own ship, and sometimes you allow others to lead. And sometimes life events and circumstances cause you to awaken to reality now. Perhaps it is a harmonious life. Perhaps it is unbalanced between your individual needs, your relationship demands, or the pressures to professionally perform. The awakening makes you wonder what options are open to you to steer in a different direction.

What should you consider? And what should you choose that is right for you at this particular junction in your life? Should you elect to do what is rational and logical? Should you decide what your passionate desires are driving you towards? Or should you have a sense of congruence between your head and your heart before you decide? This latter is what we call your quest. It is more than just a decision or goal. Your quest is a conscious holistic life movement.

Deciding upon a quest may be easy or challenging and it is the very necessary first step to a change. It may be a change of perspective, or it may be a life-changing directive. However, even before one can start the quest, you have to be ready. If the building blocks are not in place, disappointment and frustration will stifle your chances. Sure, you can ‘get ready’ along the way and that may work in some circumstances. Will you have the determination and passion to keep you going in the face of obstacles and the words of naysayers?

Preparation is what you uniquely need to be on your quest has been shown to be the difference between success and missed opportunity. Take the time to plan-a unique need, build your kit bag of ‘tools’ and get ready.

Your plan is your execution strategy. At QuestUnique we recommend getting clear, very clear, with laser light beam focus, on what it is you are going to do. This is your quest. It is not trivial. It must be taken seriously, and energized with a commitment of head and heart.

An intelligent approach is to hold yourself accountable for your progress. Perhaps this could be someone you trust or an independent mirror of reflection such as a coach. The evidence for total self-help suggests that the clever mind of a human being is smart enough to sometimes trick you out of your commitment. Are you physically strong enough? Are you mentally tough enough?
