Okay, welcome back. And I want to wrap this course up with some best practices that we've used on LinkedIn, we've seen utilize that. Some of this may be your review, some of this will be new stuff. And you can use this right away and start, you know, really building your network and taking things to the next level on LinkedIn. So the first thing that you can do is, I'm going to take you to a place where you can actually go and create. So the first thing you can do is use Google to your advantage.
You can use Google presentation to create cool presentations for your profile. Then you can also use Google Hangout. And we really like Google Hangout, because basically, anybody that's on LinkedIn, if they have a Google account, which they most likely do, you can just go on Google Plus and you can basically do a free kind of conference call video chat with anybody on Google Plus, you can invite people they can show up. It's coming Like, before you would do a webinar, this is more for like, you know, people in your network that you just maybe want to sit down with five or six people and have a discussion. It's a great free tool to use to really start connecting with people on LinkedIn and actually, you know, building relationship past just your connections. Okay, it's kind of the, you know, leaving the LinkedIn Once you've created the connection, and bring it to video where you can actually look at each other face to face and have a real conversation.
It's very cool. You can also add the LinkedIn events app to your profile, just a really great app helps everybody see whenever you create an event that's connected to you, when they when they're on your profile, they can see the event coming up and just makes it easy to get people to go. Also make sure you're inviting people to those events. And then there's other more popular, and there's also other popular LinkedIn apps. So definitely just like Facebook or any other platform, you know, utilize the apps that are most relevant to you and your business. Okay, then if you're approaching a big company, make sure to follow them on LinkedIn so you can stay up to date on what they're doing.
Okay? So if you're looking to engage a company, this is going to give you the way to do it, okay? You're gonna know what their values are you gonna know their mission, you're gonna have their purpose, you're gonna know, their updates, you know, recent news, okay, all this stuff is going to be on LinkedIn, if it's a major company you're trying to connect to. And then also, if you've built a big enough network in your industry, there's a good chance based on the whole six degrees of separation, that you may have a friend or someone you're connected to, it's connected to someone at that company. Okay, this is why once again, this is more advanced level stuff, because, you know, building your network is number one. And then number two, would be to, you know, get somebody in your network to introduce you to somebody else at that company.
Okay, very simple. It's a lot easier than trying to just connect with someone you don't know and then trying to convince them that you're cool. It's a lot easier just to have your friend or somebody you're already connected to say, Hey, this is this is so and so they're a great person. We all think alike, okay? So it's it's very, it's very easy once you have that introduction to build a relationship with someone you don't know. Okay, then there's a great app called the buffer app.
Okay? It's gonna help you automate things that actually help you automate content to your LinkedIn profiles to make sure you check that out. And then make sure like I said before, accept all incoming Connect. Accept all incoming Connect requests to increase your reach. You want to make sure you're accepting everyone that connects to you or asked to connect to you. And then if you find out this person spamming you or that weirdo, you can always just delete the connection because you don't have to stay connected to someone.
It's pretty much like Facebook you can friend somebody you could unfriend somebody very simple. Then you want to follow up with connections you make it networking events through LinkedIn instead of traditional email. Okay, so if you meet someone at a networking event, and you really hit it off, you know, ask them, you know, do you have, do you have LinkedIn, okay? And they may give you their LinkedIn email, okay. So just make sure if you do trade emails with somebody, that they give you the email that's attached to their LinkedIn account, okay, or if they have a business card, and they have their website, maybe they'll have a LinkedIn button on their site somewhere. So just make sure if you can find somebody on LinkedIn that you've connected with them at an event, it's gonna be a lot easier, not only to follow up with that person, but it's going to be easier to see who you know, that knows that person.
And then we can do what we talked about earlier, which is, you know, get the introduction. So even though you met that person at the event, you may say, you may contact that person and say, Hey, you know, I see we have this friend in common, or you may just have your friend kind of do a reintroduction to you. There's no harm in that. And then also something next level you can do is actually introduce that person you met at a networking event to someone else that they may not know that they could receive value from Okay, so they may not know this person you're connecting them to, but it could be a relationship that could be profitable or good for them. Okay, so that's a great way to build your connections and build your tribe and LinkedIn is by connecting other people together. It's also a great way to show that you're a value giving person you're not just trying to show up and, you know, take value from people
