Let's review the materials that we need to start printing. You will need some inks suitable for fabric printing. There are many types of things out in the art store for my life for silkscreen or lock printing but you want to make sure that you get something that says textile on it. You will also be needing what are called the easy cut blocks. They come in different sizes also get another brand that is called steeple, which also works like a rubber stamp. We also will be needing some of the breyers this will be used for inking.
Make sure that your brayer will cover the size of the design that you will need to ink. An important thing that you will be needing is these carving tools. These carving tools come with like different names. You can buy a very basic set No need to go for the expensive ones. They're really simple. They will come with one or two names that have different weights for for when you start carving your block.
So you will also need Plexiglas. Plexiglas, basically it's the surface that will give you a smooth surface so that you can spread the ink to transfer into the block. Another important thing that you will need is a track transfer paper. This will work as a carbon paper for transferring the design into the block. You may also need to get a couple of like wooden spatula to mix the inks. Now that you have gathered all your materials, we're ready to start setting up our workspace.
You want to keep your work workspace very clean and just remember that as long as you have a flat surface you go to print anywhere you want. Because we're going to be printing a tea towel, you want to put like a soft fabric beneath. After you put yourself fabric You can just put up a big sheet of craft paper so that you cover the whole area. We're going to be using inks. You may also want to have some, some fair crap paper because when we cut the block, you're going to have some ways that it will be easier to gather if you had like something already set up that way. So let's get started in printing now.
