The basic key to study methodology follows three stages.

  • The most important issue in learning is the strategy: what to learn, when, why, and how. We touch these aspects in certain masterclasses, but they are definitely too complex for the mini-course. In this course, we assume that you know what you are doing and simply need to learn faster. Moreover, we have specific resources for the adaptation of your skills to various fields of knowledge. The same skills can be applied to tax laws and computer code, but the adaptation will be very different. In this mini-course, we assume that you apply your skills to reading professional blogs like Tech crunch, psychology today, or SeekingAlpha.
  • First, you need to learn effective visualization. The visualization skill is a powerful tool that is used in all of our courses. You can choose which form of visualization works for you, and you do not need to master all kinds of visualization. You should be very good with the visualizations you do master. This means you should be able to visualize whatever you need, very fast, with high control over the level and accuracy of details. Typically it takes several months to master the skill, which is more than most people can afford. So we move to the next set of skills as soon as you master the bare minimum.
  • Second, we think that memory skills are very important for all learning activities. If you do not understand and remember what you learn, you will need to learn the same material over and over, which is not very productive. It is probably better to learn slowly and remember forever than to learn very fast and forget soon after.
  • Third, we have the productivity aspect. People who need to learn, research and write spend a large portion of their day reading. Here the most important question is your reading speed. Someone who invested in speedreading several months can read three times faster than someone who didn't and remember three times more. This has been tested with Anna's students. If you train consistently for several years, you can further triple your reading speed, but we do not recommend this extra training. Why? Because after the basic speedreading improvement, you will spend more time analyzing the text than reading it.

There are some common ideas and resources you can use throughout the course. We provide some of them at the end of the course.

Once you mastered the basic skills, you can choose to look for more specialized training that is most adapted to your personal needs. We do not cover the advanced techniques in this minicourse and invite you to buy our other offering.

We'll cover the following topics in this section:
