Hello and welcome to lecture three, have become an author, self publish your books worldwide. I am teaching receivers. Lecture three, edit, edit and edit. Many new authors think that only the story or content matters to readers, but it is not so. Readers did a book not only by its cover, but also by the way it is written in set. Even if the reader is not a grammar expert, he or she can notice several mistakes are oddities from their perspective.

For example, a reader may notice that the author has unnecessarily repeated the same concept again and again in different ways. This can irritate the reader, as they will think this has been done to puff up the book and increase pages. In other words, the interior is not edited properly. What new authors normally do Saturday and Sunday, you I can't believe that I have belted out 150 pages of my new book in four weeks. I have now entered the efficiency zone, the pinnacle of speed writing. At this rate, I can easily write new books every month.

I'll publish it tonight and start on my next one. Goodbye writer's block. What I say? Stop, wait, hold on, give it some time. What the new author may say is why my book is ready now. For this, I will again say just to what I say.

Review your book tomorrow and again in a couple of days now go to sleep. After eight hours of sleep, let me do a quick check of my manuscript. What? This sentence doesn't look right. How could I have missed this? Hey, I think these words don't suit well for this topic.

Let me find a better word for this. This and that. No, it looks better. Isn't this better than yesterday? Now, after eight more hours of sleep, let me give one final check. Whoa, how could I have done this?

I explained this concept a few pages earlier. And Domino stated the same thing again using different sentences. Let me delete this reputation. Two days later, let me check No, I can't believe it. This paragraph doesn't gel at all with the story. Why did I scribble it?

It's unwanted. Let me delete it. Now what? The stuff looks broken and lost its continued. Looks like I have to reorganize all the paragraphs a good moral of the story. Many new writers think writing first is a good thing.

But when you write first you will make many mistakes. This is why you should not have any urgency or deadlines for writing a book. For example, don't promise yourself for others that you will finish a great book in six weeks. Less. Always remember that when you are too eager to show off your talents to others, you will make embarrassing mistakes. So what can you do?

The simple answer is to revisit again and again. When you give it some time and return to revise it with fresh eyes, you will suddenly discover many ways of improving it further. A book is a work of art and must be molded carefully. It is like a diamond that must be carefully cut and polished to get the brilliant sparkle. You can always generate a better sentence a better structure, a better plot, a better title, and so on if you give it enough time. But if you hurry, then you may end up publishing a shoddy book that will haunt you for years and also disappoint your readers.

For example, imagine the horror of noticing dozens of spelling mistakes grammatical errors, badly written sentences, reputations, etc. After your book has been published, and available for sale. Secondly, such a books gets reviewed by professional, they will rip your work apart with a horrible review. So take your time. writing a book involves plenty of editing, polishing, deleting, rearranging, moving, revising, etc without hesitation. So do not hesitate to chop entire paragraph or change the story entirely.

If necessary to make your book better. Take your time and don't hurry. Remember the court. Nature never hurts, yet everything is accomplished. Don't over write. Often, while writing nonfiction.

You may unknowingly say the same thing over and over again using different sentences. Learn to recognize this writing mistake. repeating the same concept in different ways will only frustrate the reader and will also add unnecessary fluff to her book. So Read every paragraph carefully to see if he ever repeated something multiple times. Practice condensing paragraph and retain only the simplest and best possible sentences. book titles choose interesting titles to attract to readers.

A good book title is like a bold newspaper headline to attract readers. A bland or die title will not encourage readers to pick up your book. Also, a short catchy title is better than a long one. Don't forget to include the cool subtitle, people judge a book by its title as readers will spend only a few seconds on the cover. Busy buyers buy mainly because of the title. So be outrageous and catchy with your book title to compel readers to bite on the spot or look further into the book.

Follow the same formula for yours. Subtitle and chapter title. The title and subtitle should immediately identify the audience. The book is written for, and must also give a clue about what the book is about. For example, a book titled pocket money hundred one paying jobs for teenagers we immediately identify the book is aimed at teenagers, and is about making money. The first few chapters these are the most important chapters of the book, which can make or break.

These chapters are boring or badly written, then your book is doomed. This is because readers will not read or recommend it even if the later chapters are good. The first few chapters should tempt the reader to read more and not toss your book aside. But this doesn't mean that only the first few chapters can be good and the remaining ones can be mediocre. You must make every chapter in the book sparkling In addition to the chapter, you must also have a good face acknowledgments, table of contents and so on in the first few pages of your book. If you have had help ideas or suggestions from other people for preparing your book, then then should you mention name, their names and contributions on the acknowledgement page.

If you have used copyright material, then ensure you have the necessary written permissions and mentioned them in the acknowledgments or appendix sections. Look at some books published by top publishers to see how the first few pages look at fee, then implement the same for your book. read aloud. It is always a good idea to read the paragraphs aloud to discover flaws that are not possible to find when you're just reading to mine. For example, when you read your novel aloud, you can easily find out if a dialogue doesn't sound right or if the same sentences are too long to speak without a pause. You can also discover spelling mistakes and reputations that your brain will sometimes keep reading quietly.

We now come to the end of lecture three. Please proceed to the next next lecture to continue the course. Thanks for watching and listening and good luck.
