Once again I will come to this session. In this lecture, we are going to discuss about operational excellence. Let us understand what is mean by operational excellence. Operational Excellence is a journey towards creating continuous improvement or culture to meet the customer needs. When we say this definition it consists of two parts, one is external to the organization that is meeting the customer requirement. Another thing is internal to the organization that you Creating a continuous improvement or culture.
So, Operation excellence is all about how we are going to meet the customer requirements by creating a continuous improvement or culture. Having said that, let us understand what the customer is expecting from the organization. In any organization customer is a central focus as a customer is expecting something from the organization what is expecting he's expecting his product or service to be delivered on time. That is number one. Number two, is expecting his product or service to be delivered at best cost. Not necessary.
Least cost that is number two. The third thing is he's expecting his product or service to be delivered with superior quality. Those are the things any customer is expecting from the organization. If the organization has to fulfill this requirement, internally, it has to have a cohesive team to meet the customer requirements. The organization should be flexible enough, you should have a continuous improvement culture you should have a cohesive team to deliver the external customer requirement. So, operational excellence is all about how we are going to meet the customer requirement like on time delivery, best cost and superior quality By having a cohesive team by having a continuous improvement culture inside the organization, that's what operation excellence is all about.
We're always just striving for this operational excellence. It is mainly for two reasons. One is cerveny in the market that is short term nature. Second bonus, how we are going to sustaining the business in a long term basis. These are the two main drivers for the organization to drive operational excellence initiatives.
