So this video we're going to add a dissolve to the name tag that we created in the last video. So to do this, we're going to put a, we're going to go to division effects. We'll switch off the audio and then zoom in a little bit. We want to have an end point a few frames later. And our point we add a dissolve by double clicking. We just checked, see what's happening.
Now it's starting off and fading out which is not quite what we want. So if we go to the endpoint, select fi x one and go to 100% and then go to the end and just come back one frame And then go to v one and then go to zero. We should see that now dissolve in. We need something at the end. So we have an endpoint. We take this to the end and go for an outpoint.
Again, go to plus. And if we started off with a text, which you might have done beforehand, then go for the mixes. We want the dissolve. So double click. And again, I'd say then, this time round that fades out, which is exactly what we want. So just press play.
We can now see that we have a name tag added in. And if we need to do any adjustments to the length, we get back into the edit mode, switch off the relevant channels. We don't want to affected and we can edit the length of the dissolve as we need. So that is how we add a dissolve to the name tags using the Divi or the VFX palette.
