Hello, it's Rob here from Rob coven.com. And today we're going to be talking about some more advanced tactics on YouTube to help you increase your subscribers not only your YouTube channels, subscribers, but also your email subscribers over at your blog. So let's get going. So here's my channel and quite apart from having to put out video fairly consistently good quality five minute long videos that help people or solve a pain point and have keywords and specific titles quite apart from that. There's also a few things that you should do to your channel to improve things a little bit. And in order to do that, you should go to Video Manager here at the top.
And here you can edit any of your videos, but I want to go to channel and here we want to do two things. In Video programming, and then we're going to go advanced. But on the in video programming, here you have a chance to put a subscribe button or branding watermark on all your videos at the top right hand corner, which means people can just watch your video and click on this subscribe button at the top right hand corner and they are able to subscribe to your channel. So very handy and you can choose to have it at the end of the start or for the entire video and surprise surprise, I've gone for the entire video. Again, this is another great one featured video. What happens there the audience can see a preview of another of your videos when they are towards the end of one of your videos.
So they're watching one of your videos, and at the end they can see a preview and a title of another video so they're that much more likely to stay on your channel and have a lot of other videos which increases your video view which is all good for YouTube. So that's your in video programming, but also here advanced, there's an a really important point down here, look for associated websites and put in your website there. And if you don't have an option to do this, you might have to register your website with Google Webmaster Tools. Google Webmaster Tools is an incredibly useful free tool provided by Google, I would suggest you register there anyway. And once you are filling out this associated website section, under Advanced, it will help you with that. So put your website in there.
And that gives you the ability to link through from your videos to your website. And that means that the link is actually on the video. I'll show you how to do that now. So let's go back into video manager. And up here we're going to go to most viewed and there's a reason for that and that is because you want to put these annotations to Your website on your most viewed videos because if you've got a lot of videos, you might find it time consuming. So 8020 rule, just do it to your most successful 20 videos, which are more than likely to get 80% of your video views.
So let's scroll down a bit because I know I've probably done it to all of these. And let's choose how to install WordPress manually that's got 7000 views so we can edit that. And just a few words to say about your when you upload videos, this will be a good moment to say that always remember the key words in the specific title. That's quite a bad example of it. Actually, I would prefer to have more keywords in there but I obviously couldn't think of them at the time in the description. The first link should always be a link to your website, or it could be a link to a Udemy course with a discounted coupon or some link where you want people to go this is the Very powerful way of driving traffic and making conversions.
And it should go there in the first line of the description. The rest of this description should be unique text about the video. And I usually like to write a little bit more than this. This, again is a very bad example. I was also in, obviously in a bit of a hurry there keywords, I would absolutely pack those as well, there should be about 20 of them in there. And again, I apologize, I haven't put as many in there as I would like.
But these aren't so important. The keywords in the description aren't so important. The link is and the title is very important. Now if we scroll up, I'll go back to what I was talking about before. And that's the annotations. This is where your associated website comes in.
So we'll click on annotations. And let's put an annotation on and you can see how they're so powerful now, so add annotation, you can go for any of these really I'm going to go for notes. And you can see already on the timeline that there's something there, that is the annotation that we're about to create type something here. And what I like to do is put it in the largest font size. And you can see it's up here. So we can make it a little bit bigger and move it down to the corner there where it's easy to read.
And here we'll click link. And over on the right here, we can click associated website and there I can put my link to my squeeze page. So we can get people from YouTube straight onto the place on my site that collects email addresses. And this is incredibly powerful because if you have a good quality video that people enjoy, they're likely to click through and join your list. Of course here you can add a link to subscribe to your channel as well. You can add as many annotations as you want.
I wouldn't go too mad on them. But that's I put one at the beginning and one at the end usually and not lasting for longer than the average amount of time that they give you. They're about 10 seconds, but you can make it last longer if you want by just dragging it out, but I wouldn't go crazy on them. Just one or two of these annotations do really well. And when you're finished, click Apply. So I hope you enjoyed that as a few tricks to increase your video views your YouTube subscribers and your email subscribers from your website with your YouTube videos.
Okay, I'll see you in the next video. My name's Rob from Rob carbon calm goodbye.
