The Seven Habits or traits of highly successful people is expanding your comfort zone. Much has been said about this topic as well, but I want to bring some clarifications. The first question I would like to answer is, what do you see comfort zone? The second question, why do I have to expand my comfort zone? In other words, what are the benefits? And the third question, how can I expand my comfort zone?

Alright, are you ready? Nice. Let's get down to work. What is a comfort zone simply said, All sane people have a comfort zone. This is a psychological state where you feel safe, you feel comfortable stressing risk are at minimum, you might be experiencing happiness in low anxiety as well. Of course, you can find all kinds of definitions but generally, we talk about the same thing with different words.

I would assume you've heard self help gurus talking about get out of your comfort zone, do something crazy and things like that. But honestly, the topic is not that simple, and you shouldn't take it slightly. Because this is a domain of the science of human psychology. Here are the most important points you have to consider. Number one, it is healthy to expand your comfort zone. And in a second, we'll talk why.

Number two, and maybe this is the most important of all, expanding your comfort zone happens with small steps one step at a time. Number three, you will have to make a difference between optimal anxiety and too much anxiety. Optimal anxiety is good for you and your performance, whereas too much anxiety has detrimental effects on yourself. quite important points here. Now we can continue and find out why we have to expand our Comfort Zone. Number one, you will become better at dealing with unexpected and unpredicted situations.

Regardless of your occupation, age, gender or status. There are events in our lives that we simply cannot control. Some of these events are pleasant, some of them unpleasant. I call these events or situations, external factors, because we don't have control over them. And here is the correlation. The connection, going out of your comfort zone requires you to experience risk, anxiety, uncertainty, and in many cases fear.

The magnitude we feel these emotions or experienced these states will depend on how far we detach ourselves from our comfort zone. This is the reason why I told you to go with baby steps. While you are constantly expanding your comfort zone, you begin to get accustomed to risk anxiety, uncertainty in fear on a small scale or small magnitude. The more you expand your comfort zone, the more accustomed you will become in your risk, anxiety or uncertainty tolerance will increase if I can put it this way. And then when you experience an unpleasant situation you have no control over, you will be way more resilient and step back on your feet much quicker. This I believe, is the primary benefit, flexibility and resilience.

Number two, you will increase your productivity. Many scholars believe that comfort is a productivity killer. They also believe that being too comfortable means you won't have the desire and ambition to achieve your goals. Come to think of it. There is nothing wrong with comfort, and more or less we all strive to be uncomfortable situations. However, in almost 100% of the cases by achieving our Goals means expanding or leaving our comfort zone.

In other words, we need to take certain risks. And here is the connection. If we don't have the desire and motivation to achieve our goals, we won't be productive and creative. I like the conclusion run zilka mate about the topic. Lack of comfort brings excitement. Comfort brings boredom.

There are even more softer benefits when you expand your comfort zone. But these two are significantly important. Now we've come to the final question. How? How can I expand my comfort zone? As I've said, it is of a paramount importance you go with baby steps.

So you can start with something as little as taking a different route to work or school. Asking a stranger What time is it? trying new food, visiting a new restaurant, try a new sport in other words, the things you do every day, you can try and do them a bit differently. Once these activities become part of your comfort zone, go ahead and expand further. You can try something more advanced like approaching the opposite sex. And I won't go into detail how to do that.

Start learning your second or third language, numerous benefits here, do public speaking. And instead of giving you lists of things you can do, I want you to think about your fears and face them one at a time. I know this is easier said than done, but the long term benefits will be enormous. Thank you for watching and be purposeful
