Hello, this is Rob coming here day five or six of the launch, just going to check in and show you how I'm getting on the book was launched on the 17th. But I had to wait for the Kindle and CreateSpace paperback version to connect on the Amazon Kindle Store. And then I started booking some book promos. These are companies who send out emails to people who are interested in buying books for $1. And you have to pay to get on their lists. So I did one on day four, one on day five.
And day six is the really big day. That's today, I do three promos, and three of the larger promos. And I will also Most importantly, emailed my list, which is probably the biggest weapon in my arsenal. So today is the day where I really want to hit the top of those bestseller lists. So just to show you how the book did That's the initial launch day. 18 units sold that day.
That was from an initial push on social media. And then I had those two days where nothing much happened and I had to wait. I use these days to book all the promos because they need about a week in advance to make sure they can promote you on a certain day. I then started doing the promos and I got modest sales 21 day 12 the next not very good. So I won't be using those promos again. bargain booksy and book SEO really not worth the money.
And then today 164 units sold already. So here is the book I am 15 hundredth in the paid Kindle store now. And I've got to the top of these three categories, the most competitive of which was home based. So this is you go into entrepreneurship and small business and home based it's A big category. And I'm hot new release there, if you just go into the main category, so this is very competitive entrepreneurship and small business, remember, this book sells about 900 copies a day, I'm a hot new release there. And also, the other two hot new releases are more expensive.
So I'm hoping I'm picking up some organic sales there. Unfortunately, I'm just at number nine on this category. So I don't know if I'm going to make it but I want to get above the fold. So in the top six of this category, which would be absolutely amazing, but the day isn't over, I just thought I'd check in to show you how I was getting on. Hopefully later on in the day, I can crawl up near the top of this category. So I'm just going to give you some extra information on how things are going on days, five, six and seven of the launch week or the launch fortnight as it's turning into here is something posted on social media a few days ago, really, two days ago now, when I had 70 sales in one day, I was hot new release in Amazon's entrepreneurship category.
The entrepreneurship category is a is the main one, it's less of a subcategory, as all the other categories, and I'll show you more about that later. And I'm still hot new release in that category. Two or three days later, a couple of emails I got from my email list, one saying I got the E book and the paperback another saying I bought four copies of paper back. So just showing you there that the email list really is trumping everything else at the moment, showing you the power of the email list. There's one thing you take from this course. It's put as much energy as you can into your email, but I just want to show you some of the categories now, small business, as you can see on the left hand side, here it goes.
Into entrepreneurship and small businesses the sort of main less subcategory small businesses or subcategory, but it's quite a good one, and beating Dan Norris seven day startup, zero to one by Peter teal. These are all really big books. And the entrepreneur mind, I think is doing very well at the moment. Two of them got over 300 reviews, the other two have got over 1500 reviews. So they're their big books, and I beat them momentarily during the launch. I shared this on social media.
This is of the main entrepreneurship and small business page. That's the large category. I've actually been up to sixth in this category. At one stage, I was beating Donald Trump, who had just been elected as President of the United States. So I shared that one on social media. Here's another subcategory web marketing that one was easier to get to the top of boss just show you some results live now to showing you this sales graph again, for The book on the launch period.
That was the initial social media and email outreach, manual email push I did with 18 copies sold, that has continued the social media and the manual email outreach has continued. Then a couple of days where I didn't do much waiting for the ebook to connect to the paperback on on Kindle. Then a couple of days of promos, these are the paid promos that cost about $20 each. And then the big day, I emailed my list, which is probably the reason why I got nearly 200 units. I should think the list did over 100 of this, but there are also three other promos. And then this day that isn't finished yet.
In the United States. 77 units has a couple more promos going as well. No so that's the residual efforts of all the other promotions carrying on That's crazy. sales at the moment. So let's have a look at the book. So if you search for the title, you see I get the best seller tag there, which is always good.
So let's go to the book. See I've got 21 reviews, I'm going to do some email outreach for to get some more reviews, from people who've said that they'll give me one. So there's the categories at the moment, I've left some categories and joined some other categories. I've been number one for all of these three in the past, but I'm just dropping down slightly after that big day yesterday, home based, starting a business and small business, they're all quite difficult categories to get to the top of. And of course, there's that main category of entrepreneurship and small business. I'm now down to 11th.
But I have been as high as sixth on this list. And remember that book, they're the number one in entrepreneurship and small business category habit stacking by Steve Scott or SJ Scott, that sells about 900 copies a day. So I'd be doing very well to get up to that point. Pat Flynn's will it fly, I think that's selling about 100 copies a day. I did sell sell more than that. But unfortunately, I think you need to sell more than that more consistently over a period of a few days in order to get up to these lofty heights there.
But of course, I'm hot new release in this category, as well as all the other categories that I'm doing well on. So hopefully that gives you some idea of the heights. You can scale on the Amazon platform, how high you can go up, and these very, very large competitive categories during your launch sequence. My name is Rob carbon. I'll see you in the next video.
