Hello, this is Rob carbon. And this is the $1 launch promo shedule. This is how you publish a book, if you don't want to give it away for free on the Amazon Kindle platform, and you just want to start selling it at $1 or more specifically 99 cents, and you never give it away free. You can follow this procedure anyway, if you're doing the free launch, you just give it away for free a week or so after you've soft launched for a couple of days or so. And then you go into the rest of this dollar launch process. Okay, so as I say on day one, you soft launch it so it just gets published.
If you've done a paperback then you wait for the paperback and the E book to connect at the Amazon Kindle Store. If they don't, then you can just email KDP At this stage, you're working very hard behind the scenes, you're getting your friends, followers, evangelists to write as many reviews as possible. And then you're contacting all the book promo sites like buck books, and Robin reads, etc. and scheduling the promotions, which occur in days, six to 10. The real launch the hard launch, if you like, starts on days, six, about a week after you've published and then goes on for a few days after that. The most important thing to do at this stage is emailing your list.
But also, of course, you do manual email outreach to people you know, as well as promotion on social media. And then that goes on for a few days, four days or so. And then you raise the book's price to 299 or something above 299. Because then of course, you get 70% royalty on that price. So this is how it looked when I did it on my most recent launch. As you can see, I launched it on November the 16th.
I then got James h Mayfield, you can go to James h Mayfield calm, and he does some a little bit of promotion for you. You can then see the hard launch occurring on day five or six, where I got some book promo sites I paid them to promote my book. And that was a bargain book See, and books do. You can just contact these sites yourself, just google bargain book see or book SEO or any of these sites, but I've given you the prices there how much they cost. I would say that I probably spent too much money doing this. I got the most sales by emailing my list, which was free for me, of course, so much better to do that than spend money on all of these reasons.
Deals read cheaply books and books, butterfly type, promo sites, especially book sense and book bad books butterfly, because I really don't think they gave me many sales at all. But the whole point of the exercise, as you can see was to sell as many books as I could during those first two weeks, and more specifically, the second week of those two weeks, because remember, those first few days, it's a soft launch, you're really just booking in all the promos, because you have to book some of the promos after you've published because they won't schedule a promotion unless it's been published. So that's why there's a soft launch week and I really manic week where you get all the sales. So you can see I got 200 sales on that very big day. 150 sales again, when I emailed my list the second time, and then after all that happened, I raised the price to tonight.
99 Actually I raised it, I think to 399. So during that launch fortnight I sold 750 units, I made $300 in revenue can it's not a lot of money because you're getting about 30 cents on each book sold. And that's probably didn't even cover the money I spent on book promotions. However, remember, it's not about the money. It's about upselling to the readers at a later date. But I was very happy with a launch I got a best seller in four categories.
And I got number six, as you can see on the right on the main entrepreneurship category, remember that book at the top there habit stacking by Steve Scott, that sells about 900 a day. So I'd be doing very well to get to the top of that category. I was very pleased that I managed to get to the top six above the fold on the main entrepreneurship club. agree on the Amazon Kindle platform. My name is Rob coven. I'll see you in the next video.
