Fair Practice’s Mediation program is designed to provide extensive knowledge on using mediation as an ancillary process to legal proceedings or as a process to reach a resolution. The principles and process of Mediation will be explained along with the role, function, and duties of the mediator. Mediation myths and misconceptions will also be discussed to alleviate any misunderstandings about mediation and any misuse of the process. The mediation program is in line with the global standards of mediation training.
Fair Practice's Mediation program is evenly paced, and intensive and provides practical learning experiences in Mediation, Negotiation, and Facilitation. Our Mediation Programme introduces the theory model and provides participants with opportunities to work on their own current or upcoming mediation.
Though this training will be extensive, it is suited to equip any individual who is either a novice or one who has already been engaged in round table mediations and negotiations within their scope as an industry professional.
A highly skilled online technical team will manage the role-play and interactive activities online that are used extensively to give participants on-the-spot practice in applying mediation concepts and principles taught. Each interactive program is carefully designed to be challenging regardless of the level of experience or position of each participant so as to illustrate the value offered in the program developed to overcome these specific challenges.
As an added benefit to training on the online platform, delegates will receive training on how to use the online Zoom platform as mediators should they be called upon to conduct remote mediations nationally or internationally. Delegates will also be assessed on their use of the online platform during the role-play activities.
The course outline below will be delivered online within 5 (five) days, including the practical activities and assessments. Each delegate must attend the full 8 (eight) hour day of training online so that they can improve on their skill set each day through the activities.
Pre-preparation for the course will be a questionnaire for delegates to complete and submit prior to the commencement of training. This questionnaire addresses each delegate's involvement in mediation if any and their understanding of the various forms of dispute resolution.
This five-day program is devised as an intensive practical skill set course in which delegates must participate fully. Once the theory has been explained delegates will be divided into groups to conduct the daily activity to put the theory into practice. Therefore attendance is mandatory so as not to cause any disruption in the learning process oneself.
