  • Have you struggled to know what ideas or projects are fundable and which donors actually fund them?
  • Have you heard comments like your budget and narrative are not justified?
  • Have you pondered on how to develop your ME and sustainability sections or plans?

Proposal writing is a great skill to learn but is not normally taught in formal educational settings. It’s a skill you need to learn. Be it for yourself or to better your productivity in the workplace.

The proposal writing skill comes with practice and more practice!

  • you front your best fundable ideas or projects
  • you find appropriate funding opportunities
  • you include and submit all relevant components of your funding proposal
  • you create and present an appropriate budget for your project and
  • that you present your organization in the best possible light.

 At the end of the course, you will be able to?

  • Write a compelling funding/grant proposal
  • Complete that grant proposal you have shelved for a while
  • Find appropriate funding opportunities for your project support the compilation and submission of complete funding proposals
  • Join proposal writing teams and have a great start to proposal writing

Course content

  1. 6 sessions with 16 lessons. The sessions include
  2. Introduction to proposal writing
  3. Curating your proposal idea
  4. Finding appropriate funding opportunities
  5. The grant/funding Proposal
    1. The needs or problem statement
    2. Setting clear goals and objectives
    3. Developing your methods and approach plus the Theory of Change
    4. Developing your monitoring and evaluation section
    5. Your sustainability plan
  6. The proposal budget
  7. The organization

Requirements

  • You should have an idea that you would like to turn into a funding proposal
  • You should have an idea or project for which you are looking for funding
  • Attend all sessions and be in training
  • Be committed to the practice as you go through the course
