‘Black Heroes of the American (Old) Wild West’, has been designed as a TTRT-108 Black Atlantic History Resource, for interested Students as part of the TTRT “Understanding the Contemporary United States of America” Module.
The Resource is designed to provide educators and students with a UK Key Stage 2 equivalent and above access point into Atlantic History, via exploration of the American (Old) Wild West.
It examines the lives and times of some important African–American figures from early modern American history. It provides discussion and creative writing opportunities, comprehensive worksheet-based activities, suggestions, ideas, and organization and resource links.
These can all be utilized to launch appropriately supported, independent, and joint, school and community projects, on topics ranging from Abolitionists and Trans-Atlantic Slavery, through Old Western Social Activities and Native Americans, to the Fur Trade Trading Posts.
