As President at Your Safety Department, LLC, Mr. Thuneman is responsible for developing a safety solution services company providing onsite and online services including safety training, respirator fit testing, spirometry testing, outsourced safety, downloadable written safety programs and safety staffing designed for seamless implementation into existing or developing safety management systems. Previously as a Corporate Safety Director, Mr. Thuneman led the organizational HSE function for SGS North America with a goal to reduce injury levels, occupational exposures, loss of plant, property and material and, to establish safety as a cultural value in the organization across ten (10) business line in six (6) countries within North America with over 6,000 employees. He aligned the vision with core values, safety processes, and employee behaviors to reduce unsafe exposures, incidents, accidents, illnesses and environmental releases. This reduced TRIR Rates and EMR rating saving millions in cost and in related injuries. He also conducted internal incident investigations for the company and external catastrophic incident investigations for clients, developed and implemented safety management system processes and procedures, developed and conducted safety training to support divisional operations, and audited and inspected company sites to ensure compliance to transportation, storage, shipping and disposal of hazardous materials and waste regulations.
