I knew I wanted to be married early in life and learned how to respect women from the relationships I developed with my mother and sister. The friendship and companionship marriage offers are the two greatest selling points for me. As I reflect over how my wife and I have grown together over these past 17 years, I would not have wanted to go through these phases of life alone or with any other partner. She is the most peaceful person I have ever met and that peace she exhibits transpires in my life as the steadiness I need to follow my dreams. She is truly my best friend and number one supporter. I am truly blessed to be able to raise three kids and work alongside my wife every day. I live to help couples gain the same peace and love that I witness everyday within my own marriage and family. In addition to my roles as a husband and father, I am the founder, owner and clinical director of Relationship Counseling Group, PLLC and Behavioral Health Intervention Center, LLC, which are two therapeutic and mental health practices based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, (LMFT), licensed clinical addiction specialist, (LCAS), certified clinical supervisor (CCS) and approved supervisor for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). I hold both a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. For more than a decade, I have worked in a variety of settings providing counseling and coaching to couples, and individuals. For more information, visit my personal website, www.chrisamatthews.com.
