Hello English Learners! I am happy to be here at LearnDesk to help you learn English! I am a native American English speaker, born and raised in the USA, and love teaching English to all ages for over 25 years. My first classroom experience was teaching 5-year-olds how to read English from phonics (beginning vowels & consonants) and I still do that today with many non-native speaking adults!
I started my tutoring business, Cary Tutor, (in Cary, NC) in 2010 when I decided I wanted to help many people, not just in a classroom. I started tutoring private students and helped hundreds of people improve their accent and get more confident in their English conversation skills.
I decided to start putting courses online and help people around the world that couldn't afford private tutoring, and call it Laurel's Learning Lab :) Now I also have a YouTube channel and a Facebook group designed to help anyone in the world that wants to learn English from a native speaker.
