Simon Sherbourne has been teaching martial arts in London, Ontario, Canada since 1992, and founded the WKKJO in 2012. Sherbourne has a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies, 7th Dan Black Belt (under Hanshi Seikichi Odo) in Okinawa (Ryukyu) Karate and Okinawa (Ryukyu) Kobudo and is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (under Marco Costa). Sherbourne also trained extensively in BJJ under Royce Gracie from 2004 - 2017, the Valente Brothers in 2017, and Roy Harris from 2018 - 2021. He competed extensively in several martial arts, including MMA from 1983 - 2004 with high degrees of success. He has coached world champions in Karate, Kobudo and MMA. Currently Sherbourne is dedicated to passing on the knowledge, applications and best practices that have been learned and continue to be cultivated.
